I'm not very technical but want to change all my plugs. Is it simply a case of:

Take off rocker cover
Unscrew plugs with tool kit thing
Finger screw new plugs in (brand seems to be between Bosch and NGK for a 318is)
Tighten up with tool kit thing
Put cover back on

Or is there more to it or a useful link somewhere?

Thanks - sorry this is a bit of a given to most of you guys/girls

remove the plastic BMW trim, there is two plastic screws either side, pull it off

then what i do is pull one lead off at a time and change the plug so that the leads dont get muddled up, (i muddled mine up when i removed the rocker cover and when i put them on wrongly it just made aloud bang when i tried to start it :chuckle:

now pull the lead off and using a spart plug socket and wratchet undo the plug, keep turning till it comes out, when putting the new one back in make sure you dont get it cross threaded, screw them in with the extension bar till hand tight then put the ratchet on and turn a quarter or a turn :)

repeat 4 times :D

Put a very light smear of grease on the threads before you put the new plugs in - will make it easier to hand tighten them and easier to get out next time you want to change them.

I had bosch super 4's in my m42, then changed to NGK on the last service. I prefer the bosch ones to the NGK ones tbh.

Dear Lord.

1) I'm not BEERBOY - his ID does not use my pattern of names that denote mischief and cult 80's hero figures.
2) I have my plugs changed for me. Though when I have in the past, Finger tight, then half to full turn with my SNAP-ON® Plug wrench. NGK's are standard for M42.

Now let it go or continue to bark lunacy at random Zoners like a blind man!

@Bob_S:

Brown nosing is the most disgusting thing a man can partake in. Stop it. You sound like the trouser-tugging fanboy Simon13 used to be lol.

Just kidding Si.
