E30 Zone

When I answered her question about what I wanted for my birthday I was half joking, but a roll of money was produced and my son and I were off down to the South Coast to pick up a low mileage 525e lump.

Now! -Payback time - she is either having a fling with the gardener or I have to pay for the 15 grand kitchen she has seen.
God- I hope its the affair.

Meanwhile on with the 2.7 conversion.

How does your other half respond to your e30 obsession?

at the moment not very well! You have to fight them all the way. They just don't understand!

You are speshal though Si Not everyone has quite the degree of obsession that you have...how many E30s on the drive ;)

did you buy just the engine or is it still in the low milage 72k 525e auto that i missed out on
the one on ebay that finished this weekend gone?

My other half is not in the least bit interested in my E30 obsession. Had a row yesterday over welding prices. However, like Spook's Mrs, she knows I love my cars more than her so she kinda puts up with it!

Don't think she's likely to buy me an M50 for my birthday though!

My wife is always moaning about the car thing and wishes i can be as enthusiastic about the jobs that need doing around the house.

My parent's and mate's think i'm crazy spending loads of money on an 'old' car

My Mrs said it was a bit of a money pit last week, I said it'd be more of a money pit if I didn't keep spending money on it!

They probably think it's a far better idea to spend 3 times as much on a new one and lose it all through depreciation.

Its begining to wear thin with my mrs.

In the begining she liked the fact that i had a keen interest for all things car.

Now she has seen how keen (ie, £££) she's not so happy!

My son would be heart broken, she'll have to lump it!

Mine isn't overwhelmed looking at the touring scrap on the drive and she hates the soarer (but only because it bit her and put her into a signpost ) But she does like old skool motors and detests modern stuff.

In reality I can't complain as she has picked me up plenty of times when I've been ready to call it time with the touring and has kicked my arse to get on with it instead of whimping out. But I have learned recently to keep things in check a bit more and not be too much of a saddo on here all the time.

Mrs 86 was getting annoyed during my engne swap,now thats all over and done with, she pretends to be interested

well guys you know why they moan so much dont you......... because they dont get much action from you guys in the bedroom drill them straight and hard. They need to get drilled hard every once in a while and then you should be fine. I am speaking from experiance my Misses used to moan alot too but I kept her satisfied and serviced her regularly . Trust me guys, you should give it a try and you will see instant results.

I don't live with mine; so I can go in the garage...... and turn the phone off

My other half doesn't have a problem.. and quite likes driving my touring. Her real obsession are Minis (not the new tat) but I think if we weren't going to get a classic Mini as a project to work on together sometime this year, she'd be happy to work on an E30 project instead

My GF dumped me over a row about an E30.

well ive been single 4 over a year now, i have 5 mates that all drive e30's we all love them to bits, yes i spend silly money on my 318 but its all worth it when you get the satisfaction of driving it down the road..

One winter I did a major interior re-fit on the Daimler.At a club meet I was asked about the cost....my reply; " A new kitchen for 'er indoors...."

I am very lucky. My mrs made me build/restore the sport for her, She shares my obsission to an extent but won't get her hand's dirty anymore....

well mrs Bling has always said that one day she is accidentally going to wash my e30 with a brillo pad !! she hates me spending money on it and it causes bad arguments between us, so to overcome the arguments, i spend in secret ! , but its a viscous circle, coz when she finds out about how much ive spent, she goes beserk.. just cant win ! tell em your gonna spend money on the car they go mad, so i dont tell her, and when she finds out she goes mad again ?

im gonna turn gay and be with another e30 lover who understands !

God that sounds familiar! I get parts posted to work, and all the staff are briefed so that they know to hide parcels addressed to me if any arrive!

ha ha... well done mate ! i always try to time my delivery's/parcels for my days off.. !!

Tip, buy a Alfa Romeo (something like a 1998 156 2.0/2.5 T-Spark), she'll get p*ssed off with the repair costs and garage service... then sly in "the E30 was cheaper..."

I can tell from experience lol, even though I don't own an E30.
I wanted to get an E30 about 6 months ago, while I was still with my GF, but then she wanted to do something else with the money, and I just couldn't let the money go to waste not buying an E30.

Ended up not buying an E30, not having a GF, No PU*SSY in months lol and now she won't even talk to me, as she's blocked my number.

Ahhhh, girls come and go, but E30's are solid turds that you just gotta love man!!!!
