Sorry to hear this

Not wanting to sound bad but if its been lifted then its no doubt hiding somewhere waiting to be stripped for its parts IMO.

Exactly, but that is why we all must be wary when being offered quality parts at dirt cheap prices.

I emplore you all to keep an eye out in your localities for these parts. they mey pop up in your local.

The police are useless in such scenarios, so we have to do the best we can with what weve got, which is the geographic spread of this forum, followed by our fists.

There was one stolen in Croydon no so long ago and was sticked on the zone.

Croydon seams to be going down hill since i last lived there.

Sorry to hear about this! I live just round the corner from you and work on Brighton road. I have driven past this car many times on road test.

Croydon is turning into a shit hole, glad i'm moving away soon!

I will keep my ear to the ground as quite a few people know i'm into old BMW's so i might hear something through the grape vine.

The E30 is easy to steal unfortunately, sorry to hear the bad news. I think a big yellow disclok should deter most theives, they're definitely not driving it away with one of those on there!

Mines only got an imobiliser on but when someone tried to pinch my Alpina last xmas they turned the key to the deadlock position and couldn't get in quick enough before the landlords dogs started barking.

Diskloks are good but they can still be bypassed if not modified. You need to weld a thin metal bar on the inside (I can find details if needed) then you will not be able to get past it.

Also the Diskloks tend to wear the top part of the steering wheel so best to use a cloth over the wheel first and then the disklok.

Im over in Slough way and work in Feltham so if I do spot anything over here I will let you know although the chances of it getting that far are probably rare.

it looks like you live on a quiet little road where the car wouldn't be seen by every man and his towtruck, maybe it's someone local.

keep your eyes peeled locally and your ears to the ground.

how long have you had it? last owner might still have the key.

good luck anyway
