Selling advice - original or slightly modified...

I'm unfortunately going to have to sell my sport soon and as per the title wondered would it be best to change it back to original spec, I've only uprated the springs and changed the kidney grill, or leave it as it is.

Obviously just wanted to make it as saleable as possible.

Any advice would really be appreciated.

Cheers Tom

i'd always go back to standard as you'll tend to appeal to more people.

modified cars will usually only appeal to the percentage of the market that wants a car with those modifications.

standard cars will appeal to people who want a standard car, and to those that want something they can modify themselves as and when they like.

saying that, your mods are pretty minor and easily reversable so shouldnt make that much difference. although if you have the standard susension and a spare stock grill it might be worth including them / mentioning them in the ad.

Sell it as it is, they are not major changes and easily reversible :)

How much is it lowered? Gangsta low 60mm :P

It's black but I'm no 'gangsta' so it's only a 40 mm drop

Fine as it is. As said just say that original suspension is included.

If your suspension is a bit hard and you can change your supsension with little effort yourself then maybe you should do it as if anyone wants to drive the sport or you take them out in it, it may appear to be nicer to drive.

Also, you could probably take the suspension off, sell it on here and sell the car for the same amount anyway. Little extra dosh... :)

Anyone who knows these cars knows the kidney grille is nothing and takes a second to replace and cheap as well. If you have an original chromie one, put it on and give the black one with the car. Otherwise it doesn't matter.

As above leave it as it is. If you still have the chrome kidney grilles just leave them in the boot and the new owner can decide whether to put back to stock or not. As for the 40mm drop I would hazard a guess that most 325i Sport owners would appreciate this anyway 8)

id guess the sort of person looking at genuine sports will tend to be the sort of person looking for one as standard as possible.

First impressions count!

For what it takes put the original grill back on and orange indicators if it has smoked/clear ones.

No it's original apart from the springs and grill - orange is my favourite colour!

Change the grill then. The springs wont matter.
