I`ve been advised the best workshop manual is the Bentley`s one, will it cover my 1992 (j) cabby? 
Yes.
Bentley only covers the engines sold in the USA,though.So if you have a 325i cabbie all aspects are covered,you are less fortunate with a 318i cabbie...
