hi can enyone tell me if there is a common problem that would cause the central locking relay in the driverside footwell to keep clicking all the time . the central locking does not work but when i turn the drivers door lock it does make the relay click . also in the same wireing there is a black 6 pin multy plug that has nothing in it what goes in this and might it be the reason the locks dont work.
thanks Paul

The other plug is for an interior light delay relay which is often not there.
For the c/l problem check in the tech section as it has been covered hundreds of times.

Absolutely sure you did this correctly?
Connect a 21W 12V bulb between the red/black and brown wires at the locking ECU, and check that it lights at full brightness.

sure i did it rite but will check later today with a bulb another prob is if i try to lock the drivers door the key turns i can hear the micro switch click and also the ecu clicks but non of the doors boot or petrol flap lock not even the drivers door . if i push down the drivers door interior lock button again i can hear the micro switch and the ecu clicks but no other doors lock in the drivers door where the micro switch plugs into the harness there is another round plug with 3 wires is this anything to do with it it has nothing plugged into it . i dont think the prob is the door plugs as both windows and elec mirrors work fine all the time .
thanks for your help Paul

Spare plug is for door lock heater.
Does the central locking work from the boot or the passenger door?

the c/l dont work from anydoor or boot i was thinking of just buying a remote c/l kit of ebay for £20 or so and fitting that i take it i dont need the original c/l brain then for it to work or do you think we can fix the original system
thanks Paul

Thermal fuse is inside the locking module, if this blows you usually hear the relay click twice but no action on the door solenoids

can the fuse be changed or is it a full new unit this car had loads of electrics not working when i got it no wipers no indicxators no horn the prob turned out to be the double size black relay in the fuse box car has spent a lot of time in the swun in spain like last 5 years could the heat have anything to do with these sort of probs.
thanks Paul

It probably was the thermal fuse, you dont need to change anything, just re solder.
