Where would I get under bonnet sound deadening

My mate has a 325iX and needs sound deadening for under the bonnet, Ive phoned my local stealers and they didnt know anything....as per usual.
Has anyone got an idea where I could get a kick please?

Try a different dealer!
Part number 4 on this link

All the E30's used the same insulation other than the 318iS & M3.

That dealer wants dissin'. source another dealer. they come as a set of 3 pads and are about £30.

Who is your local dealer?
Castle BMW in York seem OK and I've had a good mixture of E30 bits off them

AH bought a set of these very recentley, your dealer sounds like a numpty.

The 325 e one is different to the M3 and iS.
See photos below for differences. Both of the below iirc are NLA.

My old 318iS
Unlike the 'normal' insulation the 318iS for some reason has a bobbly effect to the insulation. Looks much better the the normal insulation in my opinion.

My local said it was no longer available and then ordered the Japanese version thats the same

i thought prehaps my bonnet was a pattern part, another unique IS part

Don't think I've got any close up pictures of the insulation, I sold the car a while ago

2 part numbers are listed for foam insulation...
this one is listed for 318is..
04 Sound insulation set 1 51481925437 $63.89
this one is listed as for both 318is and 325i..
12 Sound insulation set 1 08/1989 51481972245 $39.90
edit: thanks Mark it certainly does look better than the stock foam one

Since the later one is covered over maybe it's visually less appealing? Not that you can see under the bonnet...

Nah, it's heavier, it doesn't have the square cut-out that the 6 pot versions have...

Tried ECP in Edin yesterday- told they don't stock them anymore. Don't know if it's the same across the country.
