Hello,

I just thought I would post up about my true honest assessment of e30's, namely the e30 M3.

What can I say, I owned my m3 for exactly a year and it is an extremely amazing car to own, and if it was maybe 5 years newer(obviously impossible I know!) it may still be kept.

The main problem with e30's is wondering what the next niggle may be. I did love working on the car, but sometimes its just not practical to have youre car on axle stands when you need to be at work!

Now i have been pretty lucky with my car, only water pump and PAS rack giving me any 'real' trouble, but they were easy fixes, in essence.

One thing i must say is the zone, its awesome, very similar to the vw forums.

The meets and shows have been great and I have met some good lads and lasses. I will still come to meets mind and may even buy a tin top e30 m3 for track use when funds allow.

One part of e30 ownership that I did enjoy was people constantly commenting on my car, many not knowing what it was. My personal favourite being 'are you german mate, cos you drive a LHD car!?'

I am obviously sad to see the pimp mobile go, but I cant use it as daily transport anymore. One of the main problems I have is I fall in love with cars like my m3 and cannot bear to leave it parked anywhere without being paranoid android. I never want to take it to do mundane things unless i am within hearing distance of it......its just not practical.

Hopefully the new owner will cherish it, and look after it as well as I have done.

So anyone out there who wants to buy an M3, do it if you can, you won't regret it. Luckily, my replacement is just as able, with 50:50 weight distribution and rwd action!

Hello mate,

The handling of the cabby was pretty top notch, but probably not as good as the hardtop version.
I was pretty surprised how the m3 handled compared to today's new breed of sports cars, both in straight lines and in the twisties and it is still up there with the best of them.

The vw forums I was referring to are http://www.clubgti.com/forum.
Its a really good forum, loads of friendly people, similar to our very own zone.
I post on there regularly, despite selling my vw a while back.....

Regards,
