well it now look's like the sport in my sig is going to be called "council" by some of you on here as i have just got my new HID h1 8000k xenons & angel eye's,

now those alone might not make it "council" but i'm sure it will be labeled as such as it has a set of 17" bk alpina rep's & a 60/40 drop.

you can make up your own mind when i finally post up some proper pic's in the photo gallery,

thing is i don't really care if it get's tagged as council as at the end of the day it's my car & i do to it what i want.

just keep an eye on the photo gallery & make your own mind up.

true but now it will look proper council :)

like i said if folk don't like it tough it's not their car.

as has been said on here before it's all down to personal choice.

any way i live between to council estates & if it fit's in with the chav's rot boxes they might leave it alone.

too true.

i reckon it's all down to snobbery,

what i mean is that some folk get on their :soap: & have a rant because some one who is on a (tight) budget has gone down a route thats been well troden before & don't like it.

like i said it's up to the person who own's the car what they do to it.

if folk don't like what you do to your car then :gives:

I've always been a firm believer in your car do what you want, what's the point in buying a car and doing what other people want you to do to it. IT'S YOUR BLOODY CAR you bought it, if you fancy puttin flames up the side drop it 4 inches and fitting 22s and neons as long as you're happy and like it then fair play, not my cup of tea but it's not my car, knock yourself out mate

people who 'council' their cars always mention a low budget. how about instead of wasting a few quid on 'cheap' mods, either don't fit mods, or save up longer for decent ones.

a lot of 'council' mods are mods for the sake of modding. they may be cheap but they soon add up, and do nothing to improve the car. angel eyes are a personal pet hate of mine. sure, i can kind of see why the angel eye bit appeals, but are those light rings (which always look too far appart on an e30) really worth it when they make the headlights look really ugly. particularly tohe all in one units which give the front end a psychotic wide eyed stare, with crystal clear lenses exposing acres of cheap tacky chrome plating.

as you have said, it's your car, your money, your choice. do what you like, but why feel the need for a defensive post to point out the obvious?

I don't get this thread.

Why did you start a thread defending what you've done to your car? Nobody had commented on it, or told you what they would otherwise do.

You've now succesfully labelled your own car council though with this.

BMW built 2,339,248 E30's whilst they were in production. Nothing wrong with personalising yours IMHO.

right let me clear this up...........

the reason for my OP was just to get it out of my system before i put the pic's of the car up in the photo gallery.

cuz you know aswell as i do that as soon as folk see it there's gonna be the one's who label it so I GOT IN THERE FIRST.

if you read between the lines i really don't care if folk like the look of the car or not as it's my car not their's so it's up to me what i do to it.

i hope that has cleared things up & not just muddied the water's.

what do you class as council??? does that mean ' modded' as there are loads of cars that i've seen on here with 'tasteful bits' which i think are offencive, ie streached tires i think are horrible does that make it council or does it make it personal???
