It will have to be a converted m3 to be RHD, as already pointed out - they were all LHD

there are no factory built rhd e30 m3s. EVER.

there were a few semi official CONVERSIONS done buy bmw dealers to brand new cars which were then supplied to the customer rhd, but there were never any actual official lhd cars, uk or anywhere else in the world.

a proper proper mint, decent spec e30 m3 is worth £12k + all day long. special ones and tiny mileage collectors items are going for £20k +

Possibly converted by Birds. The 48/50 claim needs to be proven though.

If I were ever in the market for an M3 - which is highly unlikely - it would have to be RHD and properly converted. I don't care what the purists think.

it might be one of a run of 50 rhd converted e30 m3s, but it isnt an official rhd e30 m3.

There is NO SUCH THING AS A FACTORY RHD M3.. Only converted ones

so now weve all sorted this out.

its one of a run of 50 rhd converted e30 m3s, no. 48....

how much is it worth? with 102k miles 1 owner??

I wouldn't even believe the run of 50 thing either... It is a RHD M3..

Worth less than a LHD one of same spec..

and whats a lhd worth with the same spec?

If it was LHD then it would be worth about £11/12k. Thats ofcourse if its in really good condition.
Seeing as its RHD, max. would be £9.5k.

m4xos never said it's factory. What he posted was....

"made RHD" could be construed as "converted".
I, for one, didn't read his post as implying it's a factory RHD.

I would only want a RHD also!

I really don't see why people get so het up about LHD rightness?

I don't hold with the "conversion devalues it" train of thought. If someone wants the car badly enough and it has been done 100% properly they will pay proper money for it.

Think about it....
All E30s - come to that all BMWs - that are RHD are just LHD cars that have been "converted". They were designed as LHD, weren't they???

I'm just getting used to LHD it is a real novelty as far as I'm concerned. I had my doubts but it is rewarding learning to drive on the left and use a dog leg box. :)

A delicate subject, and there has been much debate on the 'worth' of e30 M3s. I would say pay what you feel it's worth to you. If you want to benchmark it to market values, trawl the classifieds, such as Pistonheads. There appears to be a deeper market in LHD ones as they appeal to the continental buyers with their currently stronger Euros, as well as purists everywhere. I would guess that a RHD would sell for less than its LHD equivalent.

The lhd ones perhaps would be more in terms of price as they appeal more to the purists as original examples.

Regardless of your apparent feelings towards him, I'd say your comment - based around his being Polish - was un-warranted.

I happen to know Rob reasonably well, but that's by-the-by. In fact if he steps out of line in the way you just have he'll be treated the same way - ie. do it again and you may consider your use of the forum over.
