Looking at a 89 G 325i sport, now through reading on here it has got sport on the log book, what are the other noticable features that confirms this? Be nice, i'm selling my VW's to join the BMW world!
Thanks Adam

Get the chassis number and ring a dealer - it's the only way to be 100%.

Mine doesn't have an OBC. Which I prefer to be honest. They're hideous!
Oh and it doesn't have rear headrests

As DJK said, get hold of the chassis number and check with your local dealer. Its the best way of doing it. A lot of the time people stick on the mtec kit and throw in the sports seats to replicate one.
The dealer is the most sure way of doing it.
You got any pics of your old vws

Another thing to do is get the reg and use in confused.com or similar. If it is a sport on the logbook it will come up on there. Tasty looking VW's by the way fella

Cheers for the kind comments people, had a look and it was an 325i Sport (genuine) but i wish people would tell the truth about cars and not waste my sunday afternoon (4 hours in total) driving down to look at what i'd call a shed.

Yes that is a fully regretable sale, should of kept it, (sorry for the off topic)
1991 Golf GTI G60
LHD Supercharged
Full custom made SS exhaust (not a crappy powerflow either)
68mm Pulley
SNS Anti lag chip
Stage 4 'charger
Diesel Mk3 Golf gearbox
Weitec coilovers
BBS RM wheels (7.5 & 8" running 195/45/15's)
And much more!

Damn, you should have kept that in a barn and waited for the rest of the mk2's be 'killed' by their owners.
Not that I am rubbing it in or anything.
I had a mk2 1.6cl as my first car, with the small bumpers and absolutly loved it. The e30 has a similar appeal and audience as mk2 golfs in my experience.

does that mean it was a genuine sport??? if so they tend to have a hard life and end up lookinf like the one you found, exceptions are people like most zoners who spends loads on time and money on them.
Dont get hung up on a sport, and as you may be aware the sport engine is a standard 325 engine, only box and diff are different.
and the Mk2 is a beauty!! hope you kept the rims

I am a BUMDER for selling that! And yes i should of kept the wheels but went with the Golf.
As for the BMW not especially hung up on a sport, rather not have one then i can see all the bodywork for what it is instead of it hiding behind the bodykit. And yes i meant that it was a genuine sport, said it had a respray 4 years ago and only bit of 'bubbling' was on the roof, that was not true!
Another spanner in the works at the minute though is i've been offered my friends Boston Green E36 M3 in px with my mk4 turbo (it's on Pistonheads) but still fancy old skooling it with the E30
