Schricks are made from blanks, they buy the blank cams from BMW

I am talking to cat and schrick they both are made from blanks supplied from bmw. I would like to talk to the tuners because dont know weather to change followers and springs for uprated or leave them standered and what duration to go for as i am using quite an aggresive set up. Thanks for the responces so far.

If your revving it hard and expecting to widen its 'power band' for costs of upgrading valve springs vs risk dropping a valve and screwing up a whole engine its very very silly not too!

If your going sort of mild, middle of the road spec and not going to rev its balls off you can do without uprating springs/followers.

The wilder you go in terms of lift, duration and ramp more critical your exhaust manifold design becomes in making it all work as in m50 in e30 is not a lot of room but certainly not impossible!

Modified manifold cross between e36/e30 6 branch mate with full 2 1/2" stainless system. Enlarged throttle body ported and polished head. Lightened flywheel, organic clutch induction kit and re map. Think thats it. Just had a price of cat not including springs etc £789 +vat. Little rich of me. What sort of duration schricks should i be looking at? Thanks ShakeyC

Non vanos valve gear is good for plenty of revs, I wouldnt be worrying about it at all

Bobs cams were spot on for all out hooliganism, im beginning to wish id bought them. Not sure of the specs but im sure a certain somebody could post the part numbers up in a few days time :)

That would be mint. Looking forward to stripping the e36 and getting started. Completely depressed without a driverble e30 in my life. I cant believe bmw went from making the e30 to the 36 what a different car they are. Thanks danthe

I would choose something along lines of 275/270 with 2.5mm lift that way you can use all stanrdard bits and still be mild mannered on the road.

But if it was my car i would 300/290 with 4.5mm lift and uprate springs, retainers and followers because i like that sort of engine character and power delivery with strong mid to top end power. I don't really care about low end torque and being able to pull away in 4th and drive everying in 2 gears to me thats just bad driving.
