I have just had a price on 4 of the above tyres and it's a damn good price tbh! What's the general consensus of them?

Not had any P-Zeros in quite a while, but I found they were well past their best before they were anywhere near fully worn. Not sure how relevant that is to new ones though!

Very good all round tyre.
Used them on a trackday in the wet and they were outstanding, not that hard-wearing though...

I am a tyre fitter and that is a very good price but they are oe on the fiesta st 205/40x17 and every set i take off are out of shape on the inside edge and have well over 3mm let on outside and middle. This is normally around 8-10k depending on the driver. We normally put budgets back on for the young lads and they say they handle better, Just a warning mate.

I've never rated pirellis Dave. Exactly as Ziggy says, every one I've had perishes and cracks between the tread before it's anywhere near won out.
I've just gone Continental Sport Contacts on the e39 as they were original equipment. Even on the worn rears, grips still excellent although the ASC seems to be a bit active even in the dry

Maybe it's me
On my old 5's I always ran Uniroyal Rallyes (340's 440's and finally 540's) and I have to say, they were the best tyre I've had by a mile. Wear rate was excellent, good grip wet or dry and naff all balancing issues either. Cheap an' all!
Last e39 I had and our e36 convertible both had Dunlop SP2000e's. What a shite tyre they are. Go well out of shape and split all round the tread on both the rear 235/45x17's on the 5.

also not a fan of pirelli's offering, lacking in feel and grip and crack pretty quick.
I fitted 4 bridgestone re040's to my m52 powered chariot last year and they are a great set of tyres, better than the toyo's offering!

+1 ,cant beat them for the price, they last well too, Ive tried a few different tyre brands and always end up going back to toyo's

Hmm, So it's a 50/50 split really. I'm a bit worried about the cracking issues that Trevor mentioned, The car does about 3-4K a year so wear isn't a massive issue.
Size I want is 205/45/16

At the moment tyres are really expencive across the full range. My best mate has just fitted kummos he got off me. They are a very under rated tyre he has a 2.9 v6 xr4x4 engined sierra converted to only rear wheel drive. He uses 205/45x16 on mondeo rims. As anyone with older fords will know they understear like a bas**rd normaly but he is dead pleased with the kummos. Normally i would say BF goodrich, toyos or goodyear f1s but prices are a really factor at the mo, and there isnt even a date on bfg's from michelin as they are on back order. Hope this helps

I've got BF Goodrich G-force Profilers on my E30 at the mo (205/50 r16). $hit name, but a very good tyre.
B7 wrote:I've never rated pirellis Dave.
If we're talking Pirellis in general, how about the P6000? Easily the worst tyre I've ever had.

I had it with Pirellis right from the old P6 (Mk1 XR2's) days, through the P6000 to the recent P5000 I had on my Mazda.

Pole Poppers are manufacture standard fitment on a lot of models with its a hard compound, hard wearing, long lasting tyre with low rolling resistance to help mpg an co2 numbers. Think toyota prius

BFG are mint mate. Made my mich in the same factory as there sports brand. They are easily the best 4x4 tyre and rally tyre money can buy. Very under rate. run toyos very close and normally cheeper. imo
