can anyone tell me why the mile-ometer and mpg meter on my e30 325i sport have stopped working and how to solve the problem

Sounds like the batteries are failing on the instrument cluster fella..

The odometer is mechanical..
Do you mean the rev counter and bs-ometer?

Here you go mate.... I was surfing the web last night trying to find any E30 info I could. These are from a few DIY sites out there... This should get you sorted I think..
