Man escapes unhurt after his car skids out of control and narrowly misses Tescos' Pinchington Lane store

A MOTORIST had a lucky escape after his car careered off the road and onto the pavement outside Tescos, Pinchington Lane.
Twenty-one year-old Alex Robinson was on his way to get petrol when he lost control of his car at the roundabout outside the store at around 10am this morning.
The white BMW 316i skidded out of control and crashed onto the pavement landing on the crash barriers and frightened staff watched as the car narrowly missed the store.
Mr Robinson, who was uninjured but very shaken, said: ”aI was just driving around the roundabout when the back end of the car skidded out of control and I ended up manning the curb.
”aI was quite lucky because I could have landed up in the store. I’m really shocked and disappointed by all this.”a
Both police and the fire brigade took around two hours to recover the car.
Thames Valley Police spokesman, Adam Fisher, said the driver had lost control of the car before landing on the pavement.
The immediate aftermath was caught in this picture by Hayley Baikie

I'm think Tesco = Desil from the filling station spilt on the road. Newbury's not too far from me.

The amount of times I had spun my old 318i on the stuff at Tesco's in Bedford I am guessing it's possible. I bet what they didn't say was...

A BMW badge as a 316i with a 3.5 lump init went arse backwards into a tescos.

I'm guessing 1993/L 316i Touring Lux. No chrome on the doors suggests touring and 15"BBS suggests a late Lux.

What do I get if I'm right?

Its a really short stretch of road leading into this rounabout where he has basically tried to perform a 270 deg right turn and only made it approx 240 deg turn
Never seen this touring in around town before so not sure if he is local or not.

He was definitely trying to drift!

There's no way you could get the back end out with giving it the beans and even then it's more likely to understeer. From my previous experiences anyway
