I doubt they'll be any cheaper now that the pound has fallen against the dollar....

standard layout 5 speed overdrive gearbox, different rear diff ratio (4.10 maybe) marker lights in the side of the recessed strip in the bumpers.

I think the engine and management was the same as the catalysed euro versions.

Good to see that the Americans get as confused as we do on this one.

Take a look at this thread on DTM Power.

quite a few of the things they've listed were options on euro version so shouldnt really be included.

i did just remember the viscous coupled fan on the engine rather than the euro's electric fan, and the tow eye covers are a slightly different design.

i think all us cars got leather and aircon as standard? both optional over here.

it's still a proper m3, and has an s14 engine though :D

As stated the US cars all have leather, 13btn OBC and aircon...I think sunroof was optional

Gearbox is std H-pattern (not dog leg) Getrag overdrive box as fitted to Euro 325
Diff is 4.1 LSD

Minor detail differences to lighting and all US cars are 195bhp CAT equipped and the cooling fan is always viscous

The car in question seems stupidly cheap, too good to be true I think. Still awaiting a response from the seller.

It has 13btn OBC, sunroof, ac, leather.

I think you'll find the reply somewhat ambigious and will state something to the effect:

"Hi, I'm currently out of the country so please forward me the funds and i'll post you the keys"

Its a scam.

It's definitely a US car based on the pics. And still in the US too from the looks of things.

I think it must be a scam, he is only asking 4K. Interesting to see what the reply is. Pictures look like they were taken in the US. :(

Just had a look at Ebay USA and they are fetching around $11,500 on there. Similar pricing to the UK really for an average car.

These scammers have been doing this stuff on Pistonheads recently with E36 M3's and i'm pretty certain i've seen this car advertised before.
You can read the replies recieved by potential buyers on the Pistonheads threads.

Very lame response in the end from the "seller" sorry to bore you with it. I just can't understand why they would even attempt such a scam?

Here is the reply:

"If memory serves, the e30 M3 holds the distinction of being the most victorious race car in the history of the sport. At this point, I could talk about how the e30 M3 came to fruition as well as its heritage but the reality is that these stories have been told time and time again. If you are looking at this M3, you are probably aware of its legendary and mythical status. More importantly, you have have probably seen many run-down and dilapidated examples. This isn't one of them. I have the documentation back to 31k miles distinguish this low-mileage example. While there were mere thousands produced, there are mere hundreds left that can be classified as 'perfect' or 'excellent'. My M3 can be categorized as such. With only 109k miles and historical documentation, you will be hard pressed to find another example in such sterling and well-kept condition. Stock for the most part, this M3 features a B&M short shifter, Evo cam gear, M-Tech steering wheel, RD eprom, H&R springs, Bilstein shocks, exhaust, cross-drilled brakes, stainless steel lines and an illuminated shifter. Beyond these modifications, this M3 is in stock condition: Just look at the seats and the headliner: Immaculate. No cracks in the dashboard, the intake gaskets aren't leaking, no overheating problems--in short, none of the typical e30 M3 ailments as all have been rectified. The car even comes with dyno documentation showing a healthy stock output of 162hp. The only item that stands out is the crack in the windshield. All onboard systems work: Stock radio, cruise control, OBC, sunroof and an ice-cold AC to boot. Included in the sale will be the original owners manual & documentation along with two binders documenting the service & upgrade history of this M3. The wheels are another upgrade I neglected to mention: These are the sport-package wheels found on the e39 5 series. They are 17x8" bound by (nearly new) BF Goodrich 215/40/17's in the front and 255/40/17's in the rear. The correct 72-74mm hub-centric rings were used in fitting these wheels. The original spare wheel is intact, with a fully-loaded factory toolkit.Lastly, I want to point out the color combination: Zinnerberot Red over black leather....With brand new BMW O.E. floormats. It's also important to note that this has always been a non-smoker car based in the Southwest (Arizona & California). No rust at all. One of the best combinations for the M3 in my opinion. I've taken 183+ pictures because I realize that buying a car online or from a distance can be a leap of faith.
I also have to mention that this car is already packed and ready for shipping anyware . So this is the only way you will get this car . If you need any information regarding vehicle history book or pictures of any angle, engine bay area or interior or anything else please let me know and i will be more than glad to send them .

So if you are still interested please let me know a.s.a.p because this car will be sold in a matter of days . I have banking issues and this car will go because of the price i`m asking .
So you better think about it .
Thank you !"

He didn't include any of the 183+ photographs.
I think I will try and waste his time and see what he writes next.
