temperature gage not working

Does anyone no of any commen problems that would cause the temperature gauge to stop working on my 318is. i have replaced sensor thermostate and warter pump all the usual suspects but still no joy

Problem probably lies in the instrument cluster then. Try against a known working one?

sounds like the next plan of action would it have to be the hole unit or just part of the cluster

Try tightening the nut behind the temp gauge first.

Because you got an email from me saying I clicked a link and it banned me, then the ip proxy I used afterwards? Or more likely you banned yourself as well.

It did it to me too.....

basically its said (or rather BM said) check the nut on the temp gauge ..check the connections under the manifold and resolder any cracks in the si board :D

mind you I don't know why I posted it ...you mods aught to put a one syllable set of instructions on "how to use the search function" :x
