3-Litre M20 with 240 Bhp?

Just spotted this slightly tired looking old girl on the 'bay and wondered wether this is a feasible?
Is there enough meat on the M20 block for it to be bored out to three litres or is this guy trying it on?
Everything looks pretty standard to me...
Looks like it needs a bit of tlc too!

I doubt that engine has been bored out.............
If someone had spent the time/money to increase the CC's, i think that they would of changed a few other bits aswell to get the best out of it.......
I vote standard 320iA

I have to agree, and i doubt they would have mated it to a slushy lazy-leg box either!

As soon as you see "I've been told it has a 3 litre engine" you know it hasn't!

The sort that would have two different types of wheel on a car,
maybe they are the same size.

Metric mechanics do one too, but is 3.1 as you say. Seems the biggest you can go given crank availability and bore spacing.

I'm happy with the 2.9L specced with 135mm rods, the 130mm rods seem to short imo.
For a start there would be less maximum con rod dynamic load.

Whilst that kind of info is very useful, if the owner isnt an honest person it wouldnt be updated with the right info and be entirely accurate!
A bit like those people who sell a Nova fitted with a 2.0l lump on ebay saying they have driven it for the past year like that and in the listing state that its still a 1.2l on the log book....

yep, nice condition apart from the rust, scrapes, dirt etc etc. if it didnt have that it might be average but it does so its a scrapper.
thats like saying my touring does 0-60 in under 3 seconds. it would if it had 700bhp but it hasnt so it doesnt .
