Ive decided to go down the 24valve route!
im considerering an M52/b28
BUT,is there an issue with the alloy block?
i heard if the head gasket goes its scrap,
also what is the nikasil issue?was there a recall at bmw?
apart from expence of the E36 doner is this the only bad point of the project?
Thanks
john.
p.s.not sure if this is in the right section so mods feel free to move it.

You cant chip these, the chip is soldered to the board so its reflash only which is a downside as 'tuning' companies charge a small fortune for the 5 minutes work it takes.
Its very rarely the headgasket which causes problems, its usually either the head that cracks or the poxy alloy used for the block deteriorates inbetween the iron liners.
Nikasil is a nasty disease for the M52

sorry for the slight highjack
But,
can the M50/b25 be stroked to a b28 using the M52 crank etc...
