Sold mine last week to a fellow Zoner...like you, I used to drive with the roof down even if the sun wasn't shining.
Enjoy

Yep, me too. Hat and gloves as the heater does not work, and singing as the stereo is not wired up.corkie wrote:took mine for a good run, Roof down, music ,heater on....pure bliss...who need's summer eh?lol
Yhh bought mine aswell a couple of weeks ago. Not on the road just yetstu79uk wrote:just bought a 320 cab just doing some repairs then I'm out in it with the roof down yee ha can't wait
true ...the colder it is the more brittle the rear window gets and they crack if folded..thats why cabs were provided with a rear window cover as standardmadaboutthe30 wrote: The only thing is apparently you could damage part of the roof if your put the roof down and its cold. So you have to make sure the car is really warm inside before you actually put the roof down.
Is this true or is it just a myth????
Oh ok..........what do you mean by rear window cover? what does it look like?DaveD wrote:true ...the colder it is the more brittle the rear window gets and they crack if folded..thats why cabs were provided with a rear window cover as standardmadaboutthe30 wrote: The only thing is apparently you could damage part of the roof if your put the roof down and its cold. To not risk damage. This is good, so long as you continue doing that, your window should be fine, and you wont need a cover. As for what they look like, they're a screwed up ball of grey fabric in the boot, usually.madaboutthe30 wrote:As everytime I put the roof down I make sure its boiling hot inside to risk any damage.....
Ok cool, I dont think my cab came with that, Ill just stick to the precautionsCloud wrote:To not risk damage. Lol Im even more lost now, how does it actually protect your rear window? If its worthwhile I may buy onegooner1 wrote:Grey fabric cloud?, mine,s a black vinylish affair, with four straps.
Is it not soft and felty on one side?gooner1 wrote:Grey fabric cloud?, mine,s a black vinylish affair, with four straps.
It straps around the back part of the roof, like the face-hugger thing in the Alien movie, with a big rectangle of material that fits neatly over the clear plastic part of the soft top. It protects from cold, snow, water (which can collect along the bottom seam of the window) and sharp sticks.madaboutthe30 wrote:Lol Im even more lost now, how does it actually protect your rear window? Tbh mate, i can,t remember what the inner part consists of.Cloud wrote:Is it not soft and felty on one side?gooner1 wrote:Grey fabric cloud?, mine,s a black vinylish affair, with four straps.
I don't think I've seen a genuine one, if it's not.

If the ones you've seen Cloud, are a roll of screwed up felt, you anint been looking at a genuine cover. AND that cover alone WILL NOT SAVE A COLD REAR WINDOW. It is purely a cover to stop the frost and therefore the need to "scrape" the ice off or use chemical de icers on what is basically a soft plastic screen.madaboutthe30 wrote:Ok cool, I dont think my cab came with that, Ill just stick to the precautionsCloud wrote:To not risk damage.
