Found what looks like a nice tidy touring if anybody is in the market...

funking hell. i might tidy my cabbie up and put it up for £5k to see if some mug will buy it lol. seems well overpriced to me. but everything is worth what people will pay.

Most E30s need substantially more than a 'tidy up' to make them into nice cars !

Jeeze, that was expensive! Mind you, bloody nice touring. I thought all tourings came with Mtech suspension. And were those Sport seats an optional extra?

Seats were optional extras, after long debate it was thrashed out that the touring all came with MTech springs, and the Mtech dampers were an option.

Although another way to look at it is that there was no specific MTech spring set for tourings so if you ordered the MTech suspension you just got dampers. Probably because tourings were sprung pretty stiff at the back anyway for load reasons. Of course, unless you've got a <50,000 mile car this is irrelevant because the suspension will be tired and you're better off with eibach/HnR/Bilsteins.


That is pretty much my ultimate E30 (shame its not an iX!) but there's no way I could justify £5k on it even to myself, let alone the Mrs!

that's true but a tidy up for me is far more than the average persons tidy up ;) but best part of £5k for a car that's done 115k. if i had 15k on it i could understand the theory behind the price. but as i said anything is worth what people will pay.

as i have said before it would probably cost this much to get your averag !500 touring this good.

Nice car. Price is not bargain basement but as said above, it's all too easy to plough four-figure sums into these cars trying to revive their showroom lustre.

If you really have to have a minty E30 touring you'd probably swallow 4k+ for the purchase. Personally, much as I love E30s, an E36 would be better value. You could buy between five and ten J reg snotters for £5k, or maybe a nicely specced tourer with either budget for upgrades or a 328 sport for weekends

thing is an E36 has a slightly smaller load space than an E30 tourer, the tail lights still get in the way loading big boxes if thats your thing and the rear seats don't fold flat either.

Unless you want a Z axle and sh!t heater the e36 is the way to go

Its nice and clean but only worth half what he is asking. If it sells for near that price Im going to give up my day job and become a classic car dealer lol

He sold it for £4600 as i posted earlier. With your pin sharp powers of observation and appreciation of quality and value you will go far in the classic car trade !

Well, it's pretty common knowledge that you can fit precisely 2 tenths of toss all into most 3 series variants, so I'd say comparing an E30 touring to an E36 touring based on practicality is pointless as well. I'd buy a tourer for stealth / if I preferred the looks (on the E36 I do) and perhaps the ability to occasionally fold down the back seats for some extra space / long loads. But I'd not kid myself that it was anything more than a 5 door 3, that's for sure!

Get a nice example of either and hire a van when you need to haul

Strange that about lugging ability as i've fitted with fair ease and entire m-tech 2 body kit 2dr, 2 sport seats,LSD, engine loom, exhaust backbox,various trim parts into the back of an E30 touring on a scrap yard run.

They can haul it all apart from big square items. Engine crane fits with ease.

I'm not the type to take a washing machine with me, thats the volvo brigade. So all in all they are still pretty useful i'd say

I've had a standard Bosch washing machine in the back of my touring - a bit awkward lifting it over the rear lights, but it fitted On a separate occasion I also got a slim-line dishwasher (450mm wide IIRC) and a standard fridge in the back at the same time; dishwasher turned through 90 degrees once in and slid up behind the front seats, fridge pushed in afterwards...

Well, I bought my '93 318i Touring LUX in Feb 08 for £2.5k. It had 112k on the clock, loads and loads of history and is a real minter, but £4.5k!!!!! for one now or a year ago??? 325 or not, I dont's think so. Prob paid to much for mine but it's getting harder to find a straight original one so felt it worth the expence.

What a day that was! I was f*cked

I paid over 2k for mine, but that was in 2003 with less than 60,000 on the clock.

you said it yourself, but with an engine, black heated leathers,cruise and A/C mean this minty modern classic has the toys of the new chariots to make it very appealing

Well lets hope whoever has it is enjoying it and looking after it - if anyone knows who it is, get 'em on the zone and lets see some better pics!

Si - no arguments a touring is useful as I've had one (E36). This one's a bit nice for daily lugging unless money is no object - and how many on here can say that's the case?
