Hypathetical question if you was to buy an E30 with an engine conversion do you think inflated prices becuase of the engine are justified? Im talking about common conversions; for example average non crusty E30 Touring with M50/M52 is it worth more than a 325 model if you was going to buy it such a car?

Yes I think they are worth it, as long as they are done properly

it would be worth a bit more but not the added sum of all money spent.that seems to be the way some price their cars after conversions. spending £5000+ on a conversion doesnt add £5000+ to the value .

Converted cars are worth the sum of their parts.

What sort of money would you buy or sell an E30 with a common conversion? Seen something i like but think well over inflated price think trying to recover costs of the conversion but im no dummy

Yes I would say it is worth more if everything has been done to a high standard.
If the car costs less than it would cost to buy a standard engined e30 and do the conversion yourself then your on to a winner really
I thought you didnt want an e30?

Oakey I think my E30 bas'turdos barrier has a new year technical glitch im now open to attacks. A few interesting ones come up for sale very tempted if a bargin can be had without owners adding up thier reciepts thinking thats what the car is worth.

What is the spec of the car in question and how much is being asked?

it's worth what your willing to pay mate.
Personally I have an m50 powered 320 but I wouldn't even consider selling it, I'd want about £2500 for it but realistically I would struggle to sell it so I would frag it keep what I wanted and sell the rest..

It's all about a willing buyer and a willing seller agreeing on a sum which makes each other happy.

my cars price will start as a good clean 325 se(was a 320).... then we add the schnitzer items........ wheels £650+ ... steering wheel...£200+ bodykit.... £550+ wing mirrors.... £350+ strutbrace... £200+.... these figures with the + sign means i want more than the price iv put on here.... rare morsels indeed... i still need to acquire the strut brace and mirrors... minor detail... im not fussed if i sell them or not... i dont need the money so i will keep them ALL!!!

well there you go. i bet none of us realised it was that easy
you still need to know a rough valuation to start your negotiations from.

its a 100000 mile tech2 touring worth a realistic £1200-£1500 max that would break for more with the leather, lsd , kit ,suspension, brakes etc assuming i refitted a 325 engine to it.
i could probably break it for £4500 in total but £3500-£4000 is a realistic price for selling the car as a whole i would have thought. the £2600 labour charges for fitting the engine is irrelevent .
