The Zone Wiki Competition (Glenfiddich prize)

Update:
Glenfiddich 12yr Single Malt up for grabs - get writing folks
Hey all.
I've been thinking about posting up a quick reminder about the wiki. Hopefully to spark off a little flurry of interest.
So. As it's Christmas. The best article written between now and Boxing day gets a bottle of whiskey posted out to them.
Rules:
The article must be E30 related, a decent page in size, a good read and contain some pictures.
If you're capable of writing good English then please do. If you worry about not being two* good with them words - Don't. Just write the article and drop me a PM. I'm happy to help with splunking and grammar.
Caveat - If I deem that none of the articles are worthy then no prize will be sent out. I will get some of the team to verify my judgement, I don't want to be unfair but at the same time I want to see some effort.
I don't know what brand the whiskey is as I've not bought it yet. and yes, you can swap it for vodka or some other drink. If you're a non-drinker then I'm sure I can think of something just as rewarding as a substitute.
Gentlemen - start your web-browsers!
Ashley
*yes - that was on purpose.. A pretty lame attempt at humour... Sue me.

One thing guys - pleasecreate a wiki account with the same username as your zone account and log in so I can see who is doing what.
A couple of notes on style and tone of the articles.
Please try to write from an impartial, factual stand point.
Rather than recommend a particular product or brand recommend the type of product then create and link to a page that in itself discusses the merit of different brands or types. And example would be tyres. If the article is about track-prepping an E30 don't just recommend your favourite choice of tyre - create a page for track day tyres and detail information about various manufacturers' track tyres.
Remember, this is supposed to become an E30 encyclopaedia. So we need to objective, not subjective.
Also - you don't have to start a new article to qualify in the competition. You can extend (substantially) a existing article. The wiki tracks who makes what changes so I'll be able to see who does what. Oh yes. Big Brother is watching

Nice on Nay.
I'm surprised there's not been a bit more uptake on this. Maybe I should change it from a bottle of whiskey to 3 bi-sexual temptresses draped over motorsport cab

Just in case you do decide to change it, I've just flung up a sentence or two about the 325e.

I expected that the ladies would be miles ahead of the men already. Us men are quite stupid and need help with the basics

That's not in reference to the fact that I've already done a fair bit of stuff on there already, is it?

Fair enough.
What're the changes being made in the new year?
Can we have infobox templates, please?

Not unless you've got any good suggestions that I/we/the team could find the time to implement.

I'll post up the winner and de-sticky the thread later today, or perhaps tomorrow. I have to take the girlfriend shopping now. A vile thing to be doing on boxing day!

Well. I've had chance to think it over and look at the contributions.
Every contribution is very much appreciated and I hope that you'll all carry on wikiing.
It was a close call between Keri's updates to the Brake Upgrades page and Cloud's Ignition Barrel page and many other updates.
This time around Cloud takes the prize based on the quantity and quality of updates.
I think I'll rerun the same competition again in some months so keep your eyes peeled.

Awesome. Thanks.
I'd like to encourage others to use and update the Wiki more. It's easy to learn, basically just click "edit" and edit. No need to worry about spelling or grammar, the hawk-eyed spelling nazis such as myself will clear up the finer details. Anything to do with the E30 is welcome, too. For example, if there's a spare part in the For Sale section of the forum, with decent pictures, I'll put the pictures and a brief description on the Wiki. Then it's there, and if someone wants to add to it, they can.
But that's not the main reason I spend hours editing it. I edit and add to it, because if I'm adding to an article about something, I'll look up more information on that something, I'll learn more about it for myself, and bring that knowledge into the community too. In short, it's a very worthwhile project.
Might be good to give Brianmoooore a break too.

Just a random thought about the 'how to' type articles on the wiki... Would it be possible to get some kind of difficulty rating put on these articles? Similar to the spanner thing they use in the Haynes manuals? Maybe we could carry on the E30 Zone theme of using the BMW roundels instead of spanners?
Just a thought...
