Alpina question

On my C2 the steering is really slow and none sporty. Did Alpina ever change steering racks in the later models? My old cab had a z3 job and it sharpened up the steering to perfection. I am relictent to do any none Alpine jobs on my car as I think it is criminal to mess up such a rare beautiy.

Does "20.5:1" mean anything?
There's a PDF on the C2 2.5 here:
http://www.alpinaaustralia.com.au/PDFs/GoCar.pdf
which has the grille badge at an angle, and a BBS bodykit, and recommends Pirelli P7, not P6000, as well as not having that plaque on the dashboard - so the accuracy is questionable.

Presumably that's not a Sytner one, then? Would Sytner know whether the rack was changed? If it's not listed on the specs sheet, I'd say it were the same as standard. Chris Warburton might be able to say for sure though.

It's a Sytner one due to the C label.
I guess Simon and Barry are on the sauce tonight .

The measure bhp/L (bhp per Litre)!
Can someone please explain how that works?

It's an incredibly complicated mathematical formula where you take the quoted figure for horsepower and divide it by the cubic capacity.
E.g 171/2.5=68.4

The C1 2.3, C2.5 was sold in germany as well as the C2 2.7 but this changed to the B3 2.7 soon after.

163/1.9 = 85.8

It's actually pretty simple. A very good measure of how good or efficient an engine is. I used it when I was writing for American car magazines, since it's often hard to put a 4.6l V8 into perspective against a 3.2l S6. It means that you can look at every different engine as though it were a 1litre, which makes comparison very easy. With it, you can do something like this:
Ariel Atom: 220bhp / 2.0l = 110bhp per litre
Ford Mustang: 300bhp / 4.6l = 65.2bhp per litre
so if the Ariel Atom had the same size engine as the Mustang
it'd have 506bhp, where Ford can only get 300 from it.

So about a year into 2.7 production then.

looking at his made me realise how much bhp/l my cosworth has. 472 bhp 2.0 l = 236 bhp per litre

it's turbo and cheating though
N/A lumps with over 100bhp is the real art!
