All tech one spoilers have both a rubber bit and coloured bit.

Only one type!

tech 1 has a hard plastic piece (colour coded)that sits on top the boot lid and the main section is rubber but is technicaly one piece

tech 2 has two seperate pieces a lower lip and upper spoiler no rubber all colour coded

then theres the small completely rubber s e spoiler plain black rubber unless sprayed but not adviseable as paint will crack as soon as its leant on

hope that helps

Some came painted from BMW.

The paint wont crack if the correct flex agents are added to the paint.

not that i've ever seen

i could be wrong but have had in excess of 100 e30s since my early 20s and have never seen a fully rubber tech 1, maybe youve seen a tech one spoiler with the hard piece missing? although it would look hideous without the coded section 8O

yes i know i've had way too many but started with e21s and never lost the bug winkeye

The small spoiler fitted to iS's and some SE's is the one comonly know as a heckspoiler as this is whats on the sticker on it along with the part number.

The thing is heck means rear so all boot spoilers are heckspoilers.

The all rubber spoiler you may have seen might be an alpina spoiler unpainted.

edit

most cracks seem to be caused by friends leaning on the spoiler at some point :x
