Morning all,

I have a friend with a 325 cabby that we think has done its head gasket and probably head. He wants a decent independent BMW specialist to have a look at it - does anyone know of a good place in or around the Bournemouth area?

Cheers,
Mike

Nope, haven't found one myself and owned E30's for 3-4 years now so I've had plenty of time to try find one.

I would not recommend a single person as a BMW specialist in this area, aside from BMW themselves however they don't know their E30 from their arse, too busy worrying about modern BMWs.

Wouldn't even recommend me, took me 3 days to refit a zetec engine in the focus it came out of, I'm pretty good at spotting the bleeding obvious and diagnosing issues but actual spanner waving seems to take me twice as long as anyone else.

Would be onto an awesome earner if I set up shop as a mechanic and could convince people that twice the labour charge was a good thing!

I'd happily take a look over the car, but wouldn't have the time to sort it myself. Could advise on how to get it sorted and who to go to though. If you wanted.

Thanks for the all answers chaps...march109, cheers for the kind offer - I'll get back to you on that (trying to diagnose the problem third-hand when the original source is a very non-car-minded woman is proving tricky!).
