Help! despite many attempts to use a pic of my latest toy as my signature. I've now got as a signature an image relating to IMAGESHACK.
I've follwed all the advice on the forumhelp pages but I'm not getting very far.
Any sensible advice for this IT idiot would be gratefully recieved

I've never used ImageShack, so I may be wrong here. When you upload to ImageShack, you'll see the picture you've just uploaded, on the screen. Right-click the picture itself, select Properties from the menu (at the bottom) and then a window will come up. Halfway down that box there'll be an Address (URL) bit. Highlight the URL part on the right, copy it, then paste it over the URL you currently have in your sig-box here on the Zone, between the [IMG] tags.

Are there any other image hosting sites that are idiot proof?

http://tinypic.com

Comes up with a list of one-click URLs beside the uploaded picture. Couldn't be easier. Fast too.

You're my hero!!!!! I've worked out how to do it !! who says you cant teach an old dog new tricks!
Thanks for the comments about the car. Only owned it for 2 weeks and very time it get in it I have a hugh cheesey grim that makes my jaw ache!

Now got t o sort the problem with the car, if you take it over 4000rpm it works breifly them misfires like a pig, really lumpy hopefully Curcuit motors at Castle coombe can sort it for me tomorrow!

What to you think of the wheels? I'm looking for an original set of 16" BBS's cross spokes. There's a post on the Zone for some for sale but guy is in Portugal!

They're Schnitzer ones? They're not my thing. Don't look too bad, but could be better. IMO cross-spokes on M3s don't work. 11 spoke look cool.

Yes, previous owner had them refurbished 3 times before he was happy with them, shame the car hasnt got its originals (germany build sheet shows it had genuine alpina) but previous owner said they were a pain to keep clean (iknow what he means). I have a set of the genuine 16" alpinas on the Cab.
I see from your pic is your pride and joy a 2002? A friend of mine is very nearly completed a 10year full restoration on a 2002. Saw it last week it is abolutely gorgeous, better than new even. He will se at the shows with it next year, he's going to be overwelmed bythe interest he will get in the car, (no pics sorry) his car is silver ,watch out for it next year.

I would of helped you out, but cloud beat me too it. Suppose it saves me explaining . BTW, beauty of an M3 mate! Looks shiney too.

I'm sure Ant on here (from A-Tech) will help you out if you can get the car to his garage. Apparently his work is awesome. Thats if you can get it too him, or afford it.. not sure what he charges, although if you just want it looked at any reasonable mechanic should be able to help. (or do it yourself if you know what your doing). If the cars mint tho and original i suggest keeping it like that... but thats my opinion.

i suggest going for some split rims on the M3s. or Borbet A's if they're your thing. M3s need bigger wheels but 16" BBS are a great investment in good nick for originality. TBH most good alloys are good investments, especially if you find v.good nick 2nd hand ones as they wont drop much in value.

In case you dont know what i'm on about!

BBS Split rims: (something similar to these)

Borbet A's (i want these for my new 325i...)

Other... (similar to BBS, but a little nicer :) )

Good Luck with your car dude. Tis a stunning example, going from that pic.

I know this is only a help in one aspect, but I reckon this is about the right size.

Use www.photobucket.com you can edit size, can crop, edit contrast etc all on the website.

I've wanted a 2002 ever since I can remember. When I was younger, the other lads in school drooled over the Lamborghini Diablo (and Ryan Giggs, I seem to remember) but after hitching a lift in an E30, I was so impressed with everything about it that I bought one, and have since never had enough money to buy a working 2002, though I've never stopped wanting one. I look forward to seeing the restored one. Ten year restoration sounds good, since the 2002 is slowly dying out, it pleases me to know that one more has been saved.

Not my car, but very similar when you first glance at it!

I don't suppose he has any of the remains of the car still?

Do you fancy selling me back that Hartge steering wheel I sold you James?

keep an eye out on ebay.

i picked up a very good original set that had been badly advertised for much cheapness. never touched a curb, never been painted, just grubby and a few scratches from being sat in a garage for 10 years. the 3 centreaps i bought to finish them off cost nearly as much as the other 4 wheels!

I was going to keep them to put the car on if i ever sell it, but having seen how much people are asking for them i may just end up refurbing and selling them on

I didn't think you'd want to sell it! Annoyed with myself for selling the steering wheel and old shape badge, I could have taken a mould of the badge and got some made up. Good old hindsight...

Thanks for keeping me in mind with another steering wheel, I will do like wise on other bits. There's a rocker cover on ebay.de at the moment if you haven't already spotted it.

Good luck with the reshell too.

I have a couple of Hartge badges on the H36 but not the correct size boot badge. I'll let you know if I'm successful in finding a badge. Suppose I could contact the bloke I sold it to!
