E30 Zone

OUR DEDICATED SERVER IS NOW UP AND RUNNING.


The big change over is happening but.. this unfortunately means the zone will be down for one week while we swap to the new E30 Zone.

Thanks to the members that have donated we have been able to buy our own dedicated server, which means we are no longer sharing our bandwidth or server with 150 other sites !

What can you expect from the new E30 Zone?

• New E30 Zone theme designed by Alyman and Steve
  New faster Zone software
  Clickable photo's in the forum, so yo can view the image full size
  Embed your Youtube videos on the forum
  Rate my E30 (go on, you know you want to)
  New Magazine style front page, which will be kept up-to-date
  Zone Wiki (already in use)
  Members E30 (the one you have all been waiting for !)
  Classified section (this will take over from selling on the forum)
  Blog / Journal, your very own project diary(this has a front end, just like using word)
  Subscription section, if you want more from the Zone(e.g. traders, more space in members E30 section, bigger PM box)
  Friend List
  Events calendar, that works !
  See who's online, within the forum posts
  
  & much, much, more..
  
  All hosted on our very own dedicated server

FAQ

Will the new Zone work in all browsers?
yes, you should have no problems

Do we have to create new accounts etc?
No, everything will be transferred to the new Zone including all PM's

Are we going to have bandwidth issues? some of the pages look a little heavy in file size...
No, our new dedicated server has a 1000Gb a month which is pretty serious stuff

what's the new website address going to be?

Can old threads be carried over?
It will be carried over from the current Zone

Will user name's, PM's etc. be shifted over too ???

What you need to do before the Zone closes..

• MAKE SURE YOU HAVE READ AND REPLIED TO YOU PM'S as you will no have access to them for 5 days
  
  THE FOR SALE SECTIONS ON THE FORUM WILL BE CLOSED ON THE 19TH OF DECEMBER TO CHANGE TO THE NEW CLASSIFIED SECTION OF THE NEW ZONE. You will still be able to read after this date but not post.

One doesn't have to be a seer to know exactly what you'll be doing - throwing your toys out of the pram , tearing your hair out, browsing the tech support forums and praying for the patch to come out.

On the topic - eagerly awaiting the new version of the Zone! I don't see a mention of wiki anywhere, has the idea been abandoned or is there a separate site for that?

Whoohoo! I also know the implications of server migration and make sure you back it up properly Dave (and whoevers involved) as you dont want to see the angry side of thousands of E30 owners when their life has collapased and the all have to migrate to a new forum....not good.! Can i just add that E30 Articles section was way better than the seemingly USELESS zone wiki.

Lets be honest we dont want any monkey with a spanner writing articles for people to read! They should be regulated.

They are regulated are they not? Incorrect info will be swiftly removed surely?

Maybe they are (a bit) but the setup/layout is still useless. No offence just being honest. I really appreciate thhe hard work thhat goees into making this such a good forum.
