Any one had a look at the new Parts Auction site yet?
"Clicky"
I received an e-mail earlier to say the new site had launched, so I had a wee look, Looks very good.
I also noticed that the new search facility enabled you to enter your car's VIN number for your cars parts. quite cool, seems like I might have to spend some money soon on parts for the resto!!

CF on the number plate designates the area in which the car was registered, these areas are normally small enough that you will only get the one Franchised dealer in that area. i believe the dealer that supplied mine was the only BMW dealer in "CF" this is reinforced by the fact both of our cars have the prefixing letter "J" to "CF" which is normally a good indicator that it was registered at the same dealership. now if it was registered at the same dealership there is a good chance each car they registered on an "H" plate went in ascending order order ie H60 JCF H61JCF H62JCF etc, not by any rule but purely because of the methodical way DVLA issued number plates at the time. hence your car would have been registered 24 car after mine being H71JCF

Had an email from them today: A little update as to what is going on and why the site is down.
When we tried to upload additional features it was found the hard drive in the dedicated server had a 'bad block' and would not back up. The hosting company, one of the worlds largest, has since been on the case, since Monday 4pm and after trying a few different options have still not managed to rectify this issue.
I am unsure as to how long the site will be down for as they, the hosting company are unsure themselves and were unable to provide me with a time.
I can only apologise for this inconvenience and hope to have the site back up very soon.
