So to buy or sell on this forum you have to post 'nice car' on a hundred different photo threads?

Sell no, buy no..

If someone has 0 posts, then just collect or don't buy.. I wouldn't have my interior if you needed 100 posts or more to sell something

It would prevent dodgy used car traders joining up to sell a shitter and go some way to prevent scammers.

Don't be afraid to share your opinions..

Just don't have an irrational opinion - you'll need to explain yourself or you will just get loads of this:

Hmmm... Chiiiiiiillllll!

If I want to sell stuff I want as many people as possible to see my ad for it, and I'll put up with the odd numpty. I suppose some folk do take advantage, but any constraints to try and stop them might come at the majority's expense. Just look what's happened to ebay, people complained their accounts were getting spammed by scam emails (which anyone with half a brain just ignores) so ebay goes and makes bidders IDs secret on all auctions and it becomes a fraudster's paradise, shill bidding and everything is nigh on impossible to prove now so everyone is at it. It was the thin end of a wedge that now sees them seemingly targetting scammers' business as fewer and fewer genuine folk want to use it.

One of the best things about the zone is the for sale section, the source of spares from it keeps many a zoner's wheels in motion, wreck it and you risk wrecking the whole zone.

Selling on this Forum is a privilege not a Right, you need to gain that privilege by participation on the site, people who sign up to just sell and then disappear are not participating in any way, and to top it off when a transaction goes wrong wheres the first place its posted on?

One last point Ebay charges for listings the E30zone does not!

i agree with demlot, recently noticed people have only come on just to sell items, but have not participated in any other way, just purely for bussiness purposes, i think e30zone, should start charging people to become a member, and advertise etc, that way it should get rid of all the idiots, who come on jsut to criticise, take the piss, abuse, or just come on here to make ,money off people and dont participate on the zone.

If all that makes sense winkeye

Prime example today was SandsAutos registering on the forum then putting a meaty for sale advert straight up, not even a Hello/welcome.

I have quarantined the post and will continue to do so until either the prospective seller makes mutually agreeable contact and intent known or the potential seller is a participant of the forum.

These type of sellers want a free ride and dont want to contribute either financially or intellectually. Not on imo.

So if anyone notices any newbie type sellers then bring it to the Mods attention (should the advert slip through).

Perhaps it is time to look again at the way the zone is funded. When the call went out to raise cash I was more than happy to put my hand in my pocket and make a small contribution,I get a lot of fun and pleasure out of the zone and have been motivated not only to extend my fleet to two running E30's but to take on a project as well. Seems that a way of generating cashflow for the zone would be to make a small charge for placing a 'for sale' advert. Let's say £1 for up to 10 items in 'parts for sale' and £5 per car in 'cars for sale'.This is a nominal amount, but should generate a small but worthwile income that will benifit the entire community.

If that's the case you need to clarify the phrase 'newbie' for this instance. Are you suggessting that unless you have made 500 posts (when I understand the newbie tag dissapears) you cannot sell anything?

Excellent idea in my opinion.
