4 STUD TO 5 STUD,CAN IT BE DONE

Hello Chaps,
First time on the site,so go easy,
I have owned a few E30 M3's a E36 318is and a e30 convertible,an 850i and I currently own a 330i convertible and E34 M5,
I am not one for modifying my cars but over the years I have collected an array of wheels for my cars (ebay's fault not mine,I just press the buy-it-now button) I can't resist.
I have just acquired a E30 convertible for not a lot of money which needs some work and I want to make use of some wheel but they are all 5 Stud
finally getting to the question, how can I change the 4 stud pattern on a E30 to fit E36/E46 wheels to it to make use of a shed full of wheels????
Is it as simple as changing the hubs??
Please Help

1.adpators
2.use e36 front legs, e36 compact rears, and i think z3 ones work too
3.e30 m3 suspension-probably the most expensive way, but the best way imo
theres plenty of info if you use the search function
hope it helps

There's spacers that bolt to the four-stud, and have five studs to bolt a wheel to.

spacers would be the cowboy way to do it . may be easyer to sell your collection of 5 stud wheels and then buy a 4 stud set . welcome to the zone anyway chap

Exactly what i was gonna say. Theres plenty of stunning alloys available for E30s so y bother spending extra money just to make 5 studs work.
Also, are the E36 studs the same offset etc as the M3s or other methods of conversions?
Wack those wheels up on the fleabay (or on here as someone may want them) and grab yourself some decent E30 alloys! Best way IMO.

but with 5 stud, you haev loads more options, and better wheels as a choice..oh not to forget, bigger brake setup too.

hmm, valid point. But you can still get good big brakes for E30s that fit in the 15" standard wheels (maybe 16"), for around 600 quid. not bad in my books and apparently they're good brakes too. Anything bigger like the massive M3 style big brakes are OTT IMO unless your tracking the car and on frequent visits.
True about the choice, but most of the 5 stud alloys for beems seem a bit too new for the cars and dont look all that good in my books. I like the standard E30 BBS or Aplinas or Hartage... not the ACs tho.
Oh and SHAKEELE30, been meaning to ask you, are they 16x9 all round borbets? I was thinkin about them and i'd get the x9's all round and what are they like to drive on?

dotn get me wrong, i know theres bigger brake options, but what i meant was, the money you spend converting your 4 stud in 5, you save a little as you get bigger brakes with the conversion bits.
Yes mine are 9x16 all around, good to drive with, depending on how low the car is. In my opinion, mine was pretty low, and handled really good, plus i had eibach arb front and back so that helped also.
at the moment thye not on the cars below as ive got rid of them... the wheels are sitting in my garage, will need a refurb but then there the delivery issue to your area, let me know if your itnerested

It'll be 100 to get them to me. Your planning on selling them? What would they be like with a 30/30 or 40/40 drop?
P.m. me some pics of each wheel and a price and i'll consider it definately.

Going back to the original question,
if I used E36 legs do all the links, drivestafts etc from a e30 fit straight on to them??

Search function is a wonderful thing!
There have been at least 5 threads started this week about this!
Sell your wheels and buy something nice with the proceeds.. Going 5 stud to fit a set of wheels is madness. To do it properly is £700+ before you've even got a set of wheels near the car
