I wonder if the rear half has been turned into a trailer. Why else would you chop a car like that and discard the front end?

I was wondering if someone wanted the panels to fix up a damaged or rusty-reared car. It was a very clean cut right through. They had gone right through the prop and everything.

Perhaps someone thought this was an easy way to fix the rear arches on his Scotched rusty 325i sport?
Cut and shut ftw.

That's the 320i that's in SCB at the moment is it not - defo wasn't like that a week or two ago when I last saw it.
Total bummer it's been chopped in half, my car broke down on Saturday - traced the fault to a dodgy fuel pump today and was planning to go and get one out of that car tomorrow!!!

Have they got any other E30s in at the moment?

Yep its the one at SCB. There was one other E30, a 325 if I remember correctly. They'll probably try and charge you as much as a new pump though.
They wanted £15 for the lower part of the lower steering uj off an E36 when I was in. Offered Him a tenner but He wouldnt budge, so I left. I also had a wing mirror glass for my 306, got to the counter and He said they don't sell mirror glass ???

here all cars come chopped in half, scrap dealers know the only really valuble bits are in the front (engine) but not much of value in the rear except metal used to make Chinese space ships/tall building, so to save space they cut it like this (except they cut from the a pillars down leaving only the dash)

Strange, I normallly find SCB quite good on prices - I've had some real bargains from there in the past. I think it depends who is on the counter when you go in with the stuff you've collected.

Probably. Its always the same guy when I go in and I always feel like I'm being ripped off.
I was in another time and I asked how much they wanted for an injector pump, injectors and pipes for the 306. He said £140 for a set off a 160k mile car. I didn't even bother going in that day. I went home and got the complete set for £90 delivered off ebay, off a supposedly lower mileage car and I didnt even have to remove it all.

That's a shocking price! It's not the older dude with the grey hair and glasses is it? He can be a bit strong with prices sometimes. The most I've ever spent in SBC was £140 quid but i walked out with a full black leather heated interior, a set of front fogs, an ACS rear spoiler and 7 other things I'd been needing (I remember how many because afterwards I worked out that each thing had cost an average of £14

)

Yep, older dude with the grey hair and glasses it is. He picks a price off the top of His head and then He wont budge. I always try and get the price down in scrappy's, but this guy never goes down.

I heard some scrappies 'repair' heavily damaged vehicles by chopping it in half and welding on undamaged half from another car.

Bloody heck they've chopped it!!!!! 320touring and I were in at SCB only about two weeks ago when I was getting the OBC, rear boot panel and various other bits of it, it didn't look like that when we were there!! In fact I was wondering why they scrapped it at all, it looked so nice, grey center console and some funky looking seat belts too!! That'll be that then!!lol.
