Right boredom with this car is starting to set in so something drastic has got to be done before I decide to get rid and start something new :D

Should I return it back to the standard front end ie as a 316 left the factory?
Currently fitted with Volvo spoiler which I liked it at first but ive gone off it now.Smoked headlights and indicators and American style side repeaters in the front bumper trims.
Side repeaters on the wings have also been removed.

Back end of the car is totally standard apart from the bumper being colour coded and numberplate trim removed.

Most upto date pics ive got of it....
Image
Image

Or should I remove my N/S inner light and go for this look.....
Image

Now ive never been a fan of removing the 4th lamp but in my opinion the one in the pic above looks pretty cool.

So help me decide, fit standard clear smileys and Orange indicators and return to standard on whip the `spare` light out

I think its the lower lip on the iS lip making the car look pretty cool. That and the MIA number plate. Cars always look 10 times better without number plates. I still think loosing a 'headlight' looks gash. Sorry Tony!

Don't get bored of your car and sell it, it is too nice to do that. Tinker with something else that always breaks, I can reccomend plenty of French cars if you like! :P

You should realy put it back to standard, engine un'all :D

Only joking, I think it looks great. Nice clean lines with no skirts, what volvo was the splitter off? easy fit?

the 3 light thing, you've gotta make it work to net you more cold air, if you do it for looks alone its naf, so make it realy functional. does look cool though :)

It may get tricky around mot time as the outer lights will have to perform main and dipped, or replace the light. Having said that your mot man must be quite friendly, or hard of seeing, as you have no side repeaters :D

cheers maggs

Side repeaters are fitted in the sides of the front bumper, discreet and OEM too winkeye
Removing the 4th light would serve a purpose as my air filter is located right down in the bottom corner as close to the grill as I could get it.

Think it was off a 940 Volvo but cant be 100% sure, could have been a late model 740.
Piss to fit, took about an hour and is more secure than a stanard/iS lip thats for sure :D

This car has serious presence, yet is a complete sleeper. Keep the theme going. Uprate the brakes? 5 stud conversion and some  new wheels? Carbon Bonnet?

M50 trickery? Cam? Port, polish?

Plenty of stuff to do without disturbing the cars aesthetics.

Don't do something silly with this one, you've already sold one nice converted car.

Headlight removal is gash, Jon is right.

Well, it's your car Tony, but you've done such a fabulous job so far and it would be great shame to dilute any or all of that. It's an uber  machine as it is, so maybe more along the same lines as outlined above? I definitely think the headlamp conversion is a whole hike of steps too far.

Id get a tail spoiler for that (the little standard ones) and spray it to colour code. Then just modd the interior, get black leather seats and make all the little sly touches you can just to finish it off. Loving that car tho. Maybe some tuning or new engine? Either way, choose something and keep goin. Not worth goin back to standard IMO. Looks awesome either way mate.

The more I look at it the more it grows on me. I think you should just make it have crazy assed power and go on a Saxo killing run . It is the type of car that pretty much appiels to everyone and would be very popula at the shows.

Well when I said standard I was refering to the front spoiler really.
Ive decided that im just going to remove the spoiler and fit a standard lip in its place, ill also put a set of blanking plates back in the fog holes.
Ill probably even swap te headlights back to clear too, just try and tone the front end down a little.
I like the idea of supercarging/turboing but to be fair the engine currently fitted wouldnt take it IMO and also its building a supercharged/turboed engine on a budget....and I do like to do things on a tight budet :P

Wheels?Well im still giving some thought to them and what to go for.
Lost out on a set of Brock B1 on German Ebay,9 in alround.
Now im tempted to just upgrade to E36/comact 5 stud set up.

:( i like it as it is. It looks really mean with the tinted lights and volvo lip. Im liking the idea of a 5 stud conversion though - get some wheels with a hooooge dish on them!

I voted return to standard, I really like the front end of yours mate, but as you said the sides kick out to much, how about trying to bring them in a tad?

Or is it the whole 'side profile' thing :?

I reckon with some serious rimmage on there it would tie it all together anywho winkeye

Pretty sure the lower splitter thing is made by RyanG?

Andy you got it in one....side profile.
I just looks too modded at the front but totally standard at the back.
It really needs a Tec1 rear sppiler but at the same time I really like the `Bald` boot look so resisting temptation to fit one.

Front spoiler is definately going though, that im decided on.Ill leave it then untill I get a set of wheels and see where that takes me with it.

I was going to say a tech1 rear boot spoiler would look good, but i like the clean look too. I have resisted putting one on mine, but have always been tempted. Try and do the double lip thing if you can as that would be a really nice touch. Keep the smoked headlight though Tony they look spot on on your car mate. :D

i really like the spoilerless boot and think that it would ruin the look of it if you stuck one on. found some of those splitters on american ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E30- ... 0258809014 I like the look of them but i still think i prefer the volvo lip :?
