Where were all the e30's

So I just got back today to where i live in kent having been driven to rotherham on friday for a mates wedding. Being a passenger and not driving for once, I decided to try look out for any e30's when I wasnt looking for auto exotica or fit birds in cars, on the offchance there were any I recognised as zone cars, not likely I know but it helps those motorway miles fly by. So after approximately 12 hours in the car (there and back, had to stop off Iver Heath then High Wycombe both on the way there and back I counted 4 840 beamers but only 1 e30, a gold chromie on the m25 either m25 or m4 on saturday, it was too far away to see if it was stickered up or not.

Anyway, you work it out, there must be far more E30's in use on the roads then BMW 8's so how is it that I see 4 in 3 days and only one e30????

Where was everyone?

might have been outside yours, i saw an 840 on the grass verge by a main road in iver heath cant remember what colour it was, whihc was the last one i saw, cant remember what the road is called but it was just before you go over the bridge that runs over the motorway (m25 i think) heading away from the small co-op at the bottom of ashford road towards the m40, was it yours????

still doesnt answer where the e30s were

Pete shoves all sort of stuff up his back passage. The 840 was next in line at a guess :D

My entrance is very tight so it's a bit of a squeeze, but it does fit ! :)

That is a point though, I very rarely see an E30 on the motorway, and I do a fair bit of motorway driving in mine... maybe the majority are past the stage of being used as high speed long distance cars now...

I can testify to the greatness of Pete's back passage!!! I've never seen anything like it! It's almost heavenly.....and St.Peter decides whether your allowed in or not.

I agree with above - was working in Oxford all last week so 170 miles down from Stockport and not a single E30

During the week I did see a G reg green 316 Touring which was a bit battered (in Oxford) and then nothing until I got back home and saw a Red H reg IS

It's grim

It's been raining lately so everyone's been in the garage and gently rubbing up against their classic BMWs, looking through catalogues for dehumidifiers :P

I hardly ever see E30's on the road full stop.

A couple of times I've seen an E30 on the motorway.

Once I got a PM a few days later saying they had spotted me on the motorway :)

Another time I had one sat in my rear view mirror flashing :D

I wave, beep and flash my lights at every e30 I see just to see if it gets a response, even if I'm in a totally different car. A few wave back, usually the old dears in 316s with wheeltrims. At least I like think they are waving..............

mine isnt, its my daily driver, though i didnt use it this weekend as my mum complains about the exhaust...

wish i had known that was petes "back passage" would have had the old man slow down for a closer inpsection

i sometimes flash at e30s, dependent on who/where, and i did have a guy in a z3 flash me once, so i flashed back, cant imagine why though, but i was dissapointed not to see so many

never ran into another zone car though.....

living in sale, manc i get to see a good 9 or 10 different e30's per week.

normally on my way to work or back i pass a few daily runners, mostly grotty 316i runners but still.

i know when im heading over to jaffro's there is a high chance i will see one or 2 nice e30's in stockport.

good to see them but i cant flash as i will be in a non e30.

i bet when i get my m30 running i wont see any decent e30's :?

There is a very tidy 325i Cab in blue (cant decide if its a genuine sport or not!) round the corner from my house which I see pretty much every day.

I see a nice 3dr in white on the A38 in Brum quite regular. Looks like an iS and it has black BBS rims.

Its right though in that you dont see them on the motorway anyway. They tend to be just used locally.

I see the occasional few on my regular sheffield - southampton run, not usually more than 1 on a return though...

I did spot one the other day near baslow. was giving it some out of a junction and thought eh up an E30, eh up its diamond schwartz, eh up its a touring, eh up its my old one! Made my day... until some t*wat in a rav 4 came on my side of the road to avoid a small puddle, pushing me into a puddle which had a pot hole and blew my tyre. cheers di'k 'ed

sheffield - southampton M1, M69, A46, M40, A34 & M3 today...
