Hey Guys,

Can anyone tell me or give me some info on the Touring 325ix model, i read somewhere can't remember where that they can be a bit complicated or troublesome to own, is this true i know things are only as good if they're properly serviced and maintained but i'm just curious as to whether these are any good.

Cheers fellas.

The problem with asking a question like that is you will get reply's from people (as in the above link) who have never owned or run one!

TheGimp, are iX's available in Oz? I thought it was the US and Europe only?

The drive train is solid and the iX suffer's the same problems that other E30's suffer, thats about it.
There are plenty over in Europe that have had massive engine upgrade/turbo's etc and are fine.

Be aware that there are quite a few bits that are specific to the iX so they can be costly to run if you do brake things, or you can do what I did and break one for all the specific bits in reserve winkeye

Hey Tomson, thanks for the heads-up, i'm not sure in ix's are available in Oz, although i live here i'm moving over to Sweden soon and was thinking of getting one there, particularly as they have quite severe winters and the all ix would be a good car possibly, i've had a couple of E30's already, 325i MTech II in Sedan and Convertible guise and just love 'em to bits, so i'll have to do some research, I've read they used to do a 2.7 Alpina version, but i'm sure finding one of these would be rarer than hens teeth!!

Definately! I've only ever seen an Alpina iX saloon, never a touring but there must be one out there somewhere!

Plenty of iX's available in Sweden

They occasionally show up here too, and Poland is only a short ferry from Sweden, and it's a pleasant drive from Germany too where all the good ones must be.

There's one advertised near me for 8700PLN, or 2000pounds. Power steering, aircon, cruise control, electric everything, auto box 325, heated seats, the list goes on. Only trouble is, it's white winkeye

So if you want one, they're out there.

White - the best colour!!
mmm that woulod be a really tempting machine for me if it was manual. I've imported a car from Germany before and I'm fine with LHD.

There are a couple of 325iX tourings on ebay.de right now. One is silver, one royal blue in Austria. The silver one has had a knock but the blue one looks straight. I can't tell from the advert text but it seems to have a few electrical issues. Pretty car though...
