i have some rm's which are 9 by 15 and 8 by 15 but when i measured them they were 10 by 15 and 9 by 15 am i measuring the wrong place i measured from the outer lip to the inside lip basically the whole wheel and am confused now as to what size tyres to get can any one help please with tyre sizes cheers

wheels are measured from where the tyre bead sits, so a 9in rim may actually measure 10in if you go from lip to lip.

what tyre depends on what look you want, a 215 on an 8in will give a very slight hint of stretch, 205 more so but still perfectly safe.

likewise, a 235 on a 9in is a very slight stretch, a 225 moreso but still safe and useable. 215 on a 9in is quite common.

not really up on what profiles people use on 15s tbh

I have 225s on my 15X8 rm's but it depends on what et they are as to what goes under the wheel arch

they are et 38 and et 0

my 225-45-15 et 19 rub the arches at the back but try one of the comparison testers ..of you cant find one i can email you an excel one which is excellent as it shows the et comparison too

im gonna go for 195 45 15 up front and 205 45 15 on the rear get them fitted then worry about the arches hopefully there not too much trouble!!!! whats the comparison tester cheers

yep measure from the beads buddy rather than the outer to outer, 195 or 185 and 205 and you should be laughing, you're going to be needing that stretch anyway to clear the arch

i was getting proper confused then just they look massive so you reckon 205 and 195 will be alright ill go ahead and order some your too good to me mate

well it depends on what you like and what you dont like, here's 185's on my 8.5's



im not a massive fan of big stretch but i was fine with that, you need to go with what your happy with and what you need to clear the arch if you know what i mean.

So i'd prob go for 185's front and 205's rear, if it was me, if your not into much stretch and are doing it just to make them fit then go 195's

cheers mate ill stick with the 195's for now would they be easy enough for any tyre fitters to fit or is there any special places, ive seen them stretch tyres with a massive air gun before

195 isnt going to be a massive stretch tbh, any decent tyre fitters will be able to do it, no need for a cheetah (air gun) just make sure they are confident about doing it without damaging the rims, some of the tyre fitters i've seen are fooking animals
