I have had them good grip but soon wear out, very reasonable to buy if i remember

I have them on the 15" bbs I am using at the moment. Just trying to wear them out...its proving difficult with an iS.

decent enough tyre (was about £240 for a set of 195/50/15) but only lasted 12-15k on our 318i before reaching the wear lines!

Granted a lot of rouch winding roads but still not very good.

Jon - use oversteer, it works better ;)


Want budget tyres, go to www.mytyres.co.uk or something and get kumho's.

No you are misunderstanding. An iS doesn't have enough power to slide a 205 profile tyre, even if it is a naaaankang ditchfinder. Well not with an open diff anyhow.

In the wet, these tyres are fairly shocking.

I've heard good reports from E46 M3 owners.

hahaha, in australia its the tyre we buy when you cant afford tyres. you can buy them in the lowest of profiles for a third and even a qaurter of the competitors prices. if a bridgstone or dunlop or michellin will cost you $450 plus the knangkang would be like 150 at most. ok now that ive had my giggle

they are good value for money, they are a soft tyre that grip resonably well but wear out fast especially if camber on your car is out due to lowering or just being a bloody e30. if your a car hoon they let off tones of smoke when doing a burnout but like i said they wont last you long. As long as you dont go through 3 sets of them in your normal tyre change period they are worth putting on just cause they are so cheap to buy. remember just because it doesnt say made in italy or germany on the sidewall doesnt mean its not worth a try, hope i helped or at least made you laugh a bit

Absolute rubbish from my experience. They kept loosing air from where the sidewall meets the rim. I was constantly pumping them back up again. The sidewalls on two of mine bulged also, then one split.

oh yeah and they are scary in the Ice/snow!! It is not fun sliding in slow motion towards a wall knowing you aint never getting that power down!

i have had them, ok in the dry at correct pressures (people forget that the best tyre in the world will handle like poo on wrong pressures) avoid ns1`s there crap, ns2`s are a better compound and pattern very good in the dry but useless in wet. my 2p!

These were on my wheels when I bought them earlier this year. They had barely covered a hundred miles and so were effectively brand new. On the plus side they don't give a harsh ride, don't transmit too much road rumble and seem to have good grip on dry roads, but if they let go, they let go suddenly - no progression at all. They aren't good in the wet and even moderate corners need treating with respect. If there's a heavy downpour they seem prone to aquaplaning as well so I drive like Captain Slow's maiden aunt if there's a hint of rain in the air. I've got used to living with them, but will get them changed as soon as. Nice looking tread pattern though

No, no, no, you're just not trying HARD enough! If I can (and have) had decent oversteer in an eagle F1, then a nankang is easy! And yes, iS engine here too![/i]

Got them on the front of my car... Great for understeer! Proper nasty! Get some milleniums, faultless in my experience.

Cheap and Don't last.

Nankang :- The ultimate ditch finder. In fact the tyre that the phrase was derived from.

I guess I am used to cars that don't have to be pinged off the limiter to get them to do a 2 metre drift

With Nankangs on, the front pushes on first, unless you dump the clutch hit the limiter and then take it off and even then it is pointless in an open diffed car.

The wet is no problem as stated above as they are boardering on lethal.

go on mytyres like said above and get some toyo proxies

£50 a tyre and much better than the ditch finder.

i some times go down my mates tyre garage and if you want cheapish tyres he insists on 'nexens' there made by contenental and app they are very good havnt had any expirience of them,, but he swears by them !!!!!

nankang are cheap crap, but they do some unusual sizes that are otherwise very hard to find or expensive if you do.

i.e they do a 185 45 15, which i don't think anyone else does, which would be perfect for my metro, as i have to scrub in new 195 45 15s on the front to wear them down a few mm before they'll fit on the back

the good thing about tyres like this is you need less revs to get the rear out! in the wet you need to clutch kick it too because without it its just pure understeer or all four towards teh ditch.

i love a dangerous tyre except when you dont want it to be dangerous and you dont expect it...... get to toyo's

I could post a photo, but as I have a welded diff and was at a proper drift day, its a little pointless really! But I could get one sideways fine with an open diff too.

Nexens are good IMO too, as are marangoni's, but neither last particularly long!

I had a brand new set of 4 on an old C Class Merc with 17" alloys.

An only ok tyre in the dry (gripwise) but I never really trusted them!!!

Absolutely a disaster in the wet, no grip whatsoever. In Ireland it's wet most of the time so these tyres are no good. The aussie fella Aiello is right, they are the tyre you buy when you can't afford tyres!

They seemed to last long enough for my driving style, they must have been a hardish compound.

Seemed to last long enough on a budget rally car I naved/co-drove, driver blamed them whenever we throw the car off the road. They aren't particularly resilient to punctures and he ripped one off the rim going sideways a little while ago. Since he's no longer on them we haven't been off once, now using some Bridgestone Potenzas (In a different size) and the difference is enormous.

There are alot of places over here in NI that sell very cheap nangkangs, they are only good for one thing and thats peeling them of the back wheels
