E30 Zone

hi everyone

i went to a cousins friends house today as someone had passed away and i saw a e30 with mtec 2 kit convertible parked outside with beige letter on a f plate with 18" lenso deep dish wheels momo steering wheel angel eyes annd smoked rear lights.....i saw the chap when i come outside and started talking to him he said he bought it for 4.5k from birmingham...as soon as he said birmingham i checked the car for him as he was a good chap.....the whole kit was fibreglass and it had a mark 1 valance and fogs so you could not really see the fogs as the mtec 2 bumper coverd them...it had blue home made carpet which was not original and a full custom made sound system......he claims it had done 85k on the clock....unfortunatly the last owner lost the service history and previous mots........but he said to me he gets more looks then the new m3s as his car is a totally standard e30 classic and thats why people appriciate it....he also tried telling me its a motorsport......so i showed him my red sport and the whole kit in description and he got what i meant...and he still claimed it was a motorsport with fibreglass kit....so o thought to my self dont blag a blagger.....he obviously thought i did not no what a e30 was....i no the story was not that funny thought i would share it tho...

He sounds like a proper mug ! Did you tell him that the number one rule in E30 buying is never buy an E30 from Brum

i live near brum and been to look at e30s there and i know exactly what you mean
went to look at 84 323 baur,he also was conviced it was a motorsport,fibreglass tech 2 kit and he told me it came out the factory like that,even got m badges on comfort seats lol,
my advice is if you buy an e30 from brum you need to have your wits about you,some people are genuine,but some aint got a clue!

I wonder why Brum is the hot spot for getting your fingers burnt on e30 buying ?

Another Brum story it sure likes to keep on top of its reputation!

i know , but your car seems fairly priced maybe even slighly underpriced. its the guys asking for £000's for fairly average basic cars under the misconseption that its a genuine classic or max powered cars that make me smile.

It's not just e30's that come out of brum like that. Mk2 1.3 astra with a gte sticker on the back,in doom blue, fella wanted 2k as he thought it was a rare model lol.
