* Hartge Crew Register *

I want to start up a ''Hartge Crew'' register!

Register here if your Rank Name is ''Hartge Crew'' or whether you would like to have your rank changed to ''Hartge Crew'', or even if you have some minor Hartge bits/styling on your E30!

Add a detailed description of your car i.e. History (what your car is or what it was based on), Year, Shape (Coupe, Touring etc), Colour, Gear Box, Diff, performance and Hartge optional extras.

Show off your car and of the Hartge bits that you have by adding pics.

Discuss future plans or anything else that is related to Hartge (E30).

You can also discuss what bits you are trying to source for your car, as I know there is a few zoner here looking for centre caps for their wheels....... Maybe we can organise a group buy?

Lets see what you got!

P.S. I will add my thread this evening with pics etc.

KW shocks & springs with a 60/40mm drop
H&R adjustable Anti Roll Bars
E30Zone chip
Twin tube strut brace
Hartge 15" wheels + fresh rubber
Hartge stripes
Black kidney grill
Eyebrows
Becker Mexico Pro head unit
CG Lock
Sport interior
Orignal E30 fire extinguisher

I also have a full facelift Hartge bodykit, bit from here, bit from there but it is complete. I also have a second set of 15" Hartge wheels for a project i want to do in the future details here

I don't want to go on the Hartge Register, because the only thing I have got is Hartge 16" wheels, which personally I don't think makes the car a Hartge. A Hartge to me, imho, is one that has had the engine remodified by Hartge, has Hartge reengineering, Hartge wheels, Hartge bodystyling etc. There was a guy that kept parking on the pavement (P§ª”¢§ª”¢”¢) and he told me that his car was a Hartge, he had the wheels and the stripes, but when he opened up the engine bay, it was the standard BMW engine, no Hartge badge in the car to say that it was a Hartge. Anyone can change their wheels, but it doesn't exactly make much difference. It really needs to be taken to a place like Birds and left with them to do their magic.

I believe the register will be for properly converted cars. Therefore mine will not be included. Its not a proper hartge and I have never tried to convince anyone otherwise. I just like Hartge things and added a few bits.

However I am a Hartge nut so the Hartge Crew tag may be an honorary title :o:

I think this is just a hartge appreciation thread- people like the hartge styling/performance/looks and want to have them on their e30.

They spend their money to get the parts they want and enjoy it.

In my opinion, it DOESNT matter whether your car is an h27 cab, or a 316i 4dr with hartge wheels. this thread is about liking the style.

If you dont want to include your car, then dont :D

I have no hartge bits on either of my cars, but I wouldnt say no to a set of 16"

Have you any history as to the conversion work done on the engine ? Was it done in the UK or in Germany ?

The reason I say this is that it 'just could' be an H26 lump viz a viz an H27, any paperwork would narrow it down and then I could supply you with the spec of the engine.

Guys this is just a Hartge appreciation thread, discussing original Hartge cars and Hartge parts that people have collected over the years.

Any way here goes mine:

Here is a pic of my car before any Hartge work was carried out:

Image

Image

1989 320i convertible
Coilover Suspension
3.91 LSD
OEM Hardtop
OEM Full Leather Heated seats including doorcards and centre console
Full SS Scorpion exhaust system
BK171 Alpina reps with 205/40/17

Bought the following H2.7 engine and ECU from an old skool zoner:

Unfortunately the engine did not come with a SS manifold, but I was lucky enough to pick up this manifold from another breaking Hartge:

Mix the 2 together with a little elbow grease :

OK tommorrw I will upload pics of the engine in the car and the other tasty Hartge bits that I have ”¦”¦”¦

Yep polished the manifold myself using a £20 polishing kit from Frost.

What image hosting site did you use to get the pic that size?

Your centre caps look different to the ones i have?

Re:

hi there,
they are indeed different, made from 3mm steel, 2 x m5 threads tapped into each wheel.
allen head screw used to secure centre cap.

the chances of me finding hartge centre caps here in south africa are slim to non, especially since hartge e30's never came to south africa!

Cool, I had to do a similar thing to my Alpina reps I had.

I might be able to sort out a group buy for these centre caps, Im just waiting for a email for prices etc

Would you be interested in a set? Im more then happy to send you a set, if you cover the postage?

hi there, hmmm geniune hartge centre caps? definitely interested.
how much would they be?

also, how to the original hartge centre caps fix/fit onto the wheel? clips?
are they plastic?

lemme know.

cheers
Anton

The last price that I was quoted to me was £20 for 1 centre cap and around £10 for postage to the UK (London), this was nearly a year ago, though.

They are made from plastic and fixes onto the wheel by clips. You could do the same thing and tap another screw in these caps?

well I've just got hartge 16" wheels at present I'm planning on adding a few other hartge trinkets through time but my main thing was getting a good tech1 sport to do the work to first ( finally got one 4 days ago :woohoo: ) first thing to be done to it was remove the 17" wheels and put the hartge on... just got badges for the grill and boot lid and hoping to get steering wheel soon will also be on the look out for strut brace and hopefully through time a hartge lump... at the moment ill be putting my fully rebuilt high comp lump in as the engine that's in there the now is a non runner.. so far I've got spax suspension for her all round 635i black leather front seats rear leather bench ( also have an m3 rear bench ill be getting recovered in leather to go in ) sparco front and rear strut brace.. well here is some pics of my new baby... shes needing her rear arches sorted out and the normal front jacking point drivers side and a plate on the front battery tray and just under the fuse box nothing major in my eyes and I'm well happy as she has inner arches :woohoo:

Image

Image
when i first got it home..

Image

sitting in the drive with the 17"

Image

rear end

Image

night time pic with the hartge wheels.. and yes i have all my caps winkeye
i do need 1 though as one has a clip broken on it :x

i know my car will never be a true hartge and i wont be telling anyone that she is but what I'm hoping to achieve is a car that will be the same spec as a hartge and something I've done my self... ive been told from my other half that i could have went out and bought a mint tech 1 sport if id wanted... but wheres the fun in that.. plus if i was to go out and buy a mint one who says i wouldn't bring it home to find it has the same problem as mine but just hidden !! my rear arches didn't look bad in till i was chapping them with a toffee hammer and who's to say the mint one wouldn't be the same? plus i would never fell as if it were mine if i didn't strip it down and fix all the problems and build it my way

Looking good bud!

There a group buy on Hartge centre caps that im trying to organise in the group buy section if your interested..

Sparco do a strut brace that is exactly the same as the Hartge double tube one without the badge, im sure you would be able to get the badge seperatly.

Is your car dolphin grey? Will you be looking for the Hartge side stripes shown in the below pic????

yea shes dolphin grey i will be wanting to get the stripes for the side i had been thinking on going for the darker stripes though to be honest. ive been watching the twin tube Sparco strut brace as i know its the same as the hartge just as you say minus the badge.. its the single tube one i have at present so i may try and see if i can get a deal on a twin tube one with someone even if i need to bung in a bit of cash  ive always preffered the tech1 over the tech2 and as i say i love the hartge toys so i just had to combine the 2 winkeye
