Real Alpinas? How can you tell??

Hello all,

Anorak question... how can you tell real Alpinas from fakes.. should there be an Alpina/ logo mark on the wheel rim? or special part number behind a centre cap?

Ill get excited if someone tells me that a 7x16" with 20 spokes and a KBA number is a good starting point!

Cheers

Mark....

Replica 16" Alpina wheels are probably rarer that the genuine item, so you're more than likely on to a winner :)

20 spokes = Genuine! I'm sure the KBA number is also a good sign!

you can just tell by looking at them, the difference between the 16" and 17" replicas stand out a mile

Gareth broke his, here is one of mine since being powder coated by some muppets in Birmingham

Note the 'matching colour' on the centre cap
They did the wheels 3 times and the centre caps another twice, that is the only centre that fits the recess

I got sick of traveling in the end as I was getting nowhere and it was about to cost me double due to the amount of fuel I was using.
If anyone want their wheels powder coated in the Birmingham area then whatever you do, dont use Bournes Powder Coaters, they are unprofessional, half arsed and tell bare faced lies :td:

No, they stopped making them before BMW stopped making E30's from what ive been told

The good thing though is that they are actually 0.5 kg lighter than the real thing 8)
