Hi everyone
Does anybody know a company where i can source some numberplates from who can make them using the old style font and character size that was used up until 2001 when the new style came in on "51" reg cars, i think.
Like the numberplate on picture below.
Thanks in advance, cheers

Whats not legal, is it because of the postcode needed on the plates etc detailing source of plates???

Correct since plates made after 2001 must be made with the new font and have suppliers name and postcode.
However how does a police officer go about proving the plate was purchased post 2001? I doubt carbon dating ofnumber plates is in the local police authorities budget.
In which case if they can't prove the plate is post 2001 then it is in fact legal, since there is no requirement to change the old plates to meet the new regs provided they are still legal (pre 2001) themselves ie. not broken or illegible.

Not legal due to it not being the correct font for the date of production. Also as you say, all plates should carry the supplying outlets name and postcode.
Rog, No worries sir. Just let me know when you want some.

Get back in your corner you picky sod
It's true they can't tell, but at the same time I have to mention it. Also my prints are on record from an incident relating to plates I have made so I'm covering my arse

When I wanted a new 'old style' front plate for one of my cars I took the battered plate to my usual supplier and asked for a replacement in the same font.I had no problems but was not offered a receipt....

I should think that the only problem here would be putting them on a car produced 2001 onwards...
