320iS Motorsport?

There are a couple of these on Pistonheads....big money too. BMW E30 '320is Italian M3'; is this an Italian market M3 without flared arches or something? Just interested!

No its just a tech 2 left hooker and they come in 4 door also. s14 engine but were in Italy and portugal coz they couldnt have the M3 due to emmissions or sumat.

The 320iS was a standard E30 body shell with Mtech suspension and used a 2 litre version of the S14 engine (2.3 and 2.5 in the M3) coupled with the getrag 265 "dog leg gear box". It could be had in 4dr form or 2dr with a tech2 body kit.
It was produced for the Italian and Portugese markets because of their high taxation on cars over 2 litres which the M3 and 325i fell into.
