E30 Zone

hi everyone,

just wondering how much you would expect to pay for a 320i saloon ecu. i have spoken to people and been quoted £80 by a local garage but i don't want to get ripped off.

Around £5-£15 second-hand is more like it.

I think if you put an advert here on the zone that you are looking for one, I think you can get one nearly for free dude... It isnt often that people are asking for 2nd hand ECUs to 320i tbh!

pick one up from a scrappy for a tenner.unplug and swap yourself.

Bloody hell, Who quoted you £80? I only want to know so I avoid them.

go to a scrappers you know have a 320i in. walk in with the said ecu in your hand. say i want an ecu like this, can i go look for one in the yard?. go in to the yard find said e30. swap ecus with the car in the scrappers then walk back past the same scrap man with what looks like the same ecu you went in with (but isnt!) saying "no mate youve not got one!"
works everytime lol!
well worked with my faulty icv valve! swapped it on this early e34 525i then walked straight back out!

Or just pay the man a tenner and stop being such a tight sod!
