Had a bit of fun today in the old girl (the car not the wife

) as I've been working in Chesterfield for the past few weeks so been doing the 45 mile commute from Stockport each day
Anyway past a nice 325 Touring in High Lane which was at £1495

and carried on towards Chesterfield.
Once you get past High Lane, Disley, New Town then Chapel there is a nice little stretch of dual carriage way wher you can normally put your foot down
I was behind a Y reg Vauxhall Vectra 2.2 or 2.5 V6, couldn't really tell but it had a big fat exhaust on the back and was thinking (wishing!) that he'd end up on the dual carriage way for a bit of fun
Well he did and what a laugh, the Vectra did sound pretty good but my old girl kept up no problem - she was quicker off the mark but the Vectra slightly had it top speed (70ish

)
Give him a quick flash as we went our seperate ways a few miles down the road, gave me a big smile and patted the old girl as she done good - very good as I've only done an oil service to her since I've had her (without changing filter as I couldn't get the fooker off!!!) no other mods have been done
He must have been wondering what was under me bonnet

Nice one and it's 2.5 Rightness
There's a lot that needs doing to her yet i.e. basic servicing, filters etc and need to get the full twin exhaust sorted as it's bodged up in the middle by the previous owner so it's single at the rear

element of suprise... my favorite game
nobody ever expects "that old estate with the towbar" to have a 3.5 putting out about 220bhp, coilovers, LSD fun etc

3.5

that would be nice - but aren't they quite a bit heavier up front - I've always fancied a 535 and nearly got one but ended up with a 530 V8 which was nice
Anyway I should get a 318is badge on the back to really fool people that it's slow

ill never forget the look on that vectra GSi blokes face when my towbar'd 335 touring utterly destroyed him off the roundabout....twice.
you could see the brain ticking as he wondered how he was getting beaten by a 316
ahhh... happy days.

when i replaced my tailgate for a non crusty one, the new one was badged as a 316i...
i was tempted to leave it there for a while, until it fell off when i jetwashed it

the powaahhhh must have scared the wee badge away!

I did a Vetra this evening too strangly enough , he was "trying" beat me but I just made the loud pedel touch the floor and he vanished rather quickly. I do love having a debaged 325 at times

The 325 Touring has gone now ?
Anyway - been doing the same stretch of dual carriageway now for the past few weeks and got proper leathered today by a brand new Audi A3 2.0t s-line

That thing can shift !
Although how many D reg audi's do you see knocking around ?

iv had a little run along side a vectra GSi too. i was in my 325i touring doing about 60. he came up next to me and when i looked over noticed his missus (top looking gal). anyway i heard the V6 howl and thought id go for it too. hit the kick down switch and off we went. from that speed all the way to 125 (private road) id made a car and a halfs length gap,but after that he started closing in. i wasnt too impressed with the vectra at all, concidering mines done 220K!
