ive done all the searches on the net, etc for a cheap insurance quote for my 325i cabby. i have used all of my no claims bonus on my work van so will have to pay top price. the best ive came up with is 240 tpft. i am 41, max 4000 miles per year. car on drive. do any of you people know of any companies worth a call. i only did about 700 miles last year, so mile for mile, it works out quite a lot of dollar. about £3 per mile.

Try Performance car direct or Adrian Flux, both quoted me approx £230 with all mods declared, agreed valuation etc on a Classic Policy. It has to be your second car with limited miles etc etc

Oh, and your calculation's a bit off - £240 at 4000 miles is 6p per mile!

I'm 44, have my 325ic on a classic 3k a year policy withoot declaring any NCB. It's on a gauranteed value policy and the premium was about £175 fully comp. I can't fault them. No call centres eather. Ring them and speak to a nice young lady whos always helpful.

I used Lancaster for the Daimler. They advertise in the classic car press. Last renewal has just come in at under £90 fully comp.Do not forget that classic car insurance depends on you having another vehicle for 'everyday' use.

the new insurance quote offered 4000 miles to me as a max. last year, i only drove around 700 miles. i didnt need the 4000 miles. trouble is, if i reduced it to say 2000 miles a year, then you can bet your last pound you would end up doing more.

i stand corrected
i think i must of put the decimal in the wrong place. many thanks for the links by the way. i am going to try a few now. i tried herts insurance. they were the ones who came up with 240. they insured me last year for 185 fully comp. feck knows what went on there. i blew the head gasket on the 325 last august. 4 heads later and hopefully not cracked this time, i am not far away from mot day.
big thanks to neil (nelly) for the bits and mark (zaust) for helping me out with contacts, and info, etc.
