Must admit im not keen on them too dark, look a bit `pimp`
The ones in the pic above were a bit dark for my liking but as they were free and well done would have been rude to refuse
Light smoke mate, will blend nice with your colour.

round my way slight tint that is illegal £30 on spot fine over a certain percentage youget a pink prohibition form that says you cannot use the car untill the tints are removed and the car has to go through a full mot before being allowed back onthe road all im saying is people will sell you the tint and allways tell you its legal untill you get stopped then you get all the hassle tread wisely

Its not just your area - its all over the country. The Police and VOSA have tint machines that measure the opacity and if its too much then a prohibition is issued.
Any window except the windscreen and front side windows can be tinted heavily. Thats why you see many factory tints like that cos its then legal.

Someone on traffic cops (TV prog) got done last night using there light testing machine, apparently the drivers/passenger side window have to allow 70% of natural daylight through...
I'm with pacerpete on this one but each to there own and all that.

I think its going to be part of the test from next year as well.
Really slight tints on the fronts with darker on the rears and back works well especially if its a dark interior. Got my company car tinted to protect my kit in the back. The fronts look tinted even though there not because the interiors dark.

There has rumours about it becoming part of the MOT but it is not planned to be according to the DfT website.
