I really am in two minds now as I've asked about the relevant areas, if he has actually checked them, and all I get is "there is no rust". I really want the bulkhead inspected to put my mind at ease. The seller has disclosed me his reserve which is slightly over my current budget but I could stretch to it if its the right car.....

How much is his reserve? PM me it if you want, only curious as that may decide whether or not it's a good idea.

Based on a conversation I had earlier his reserve is far too much!
I'm going to call a previous owner tomorrow and see if they will give anything away but I'm not interested in the car now, not at the reserve price anyway...

yes, this was for sale last year and he said couldnt bare to sell it. IIRC he is also a zoner

he lives around the corner from me (literally a 60 second walk) and it is kept in a locked garage for most of it's life, takes it out maybe 3 times a month on the weekend. i does look very nice, but as you say you can't tell from just pictures

if you want to have a look,just ask! the car used to belong to phil gornall from the garage,he drew 10k for the car from a fellow from stalmine 4 years ago! who dry stored it along with some lovely old jags ect when the car came for sale again phil brokered a dealwith me as i always used to pester him to sell me the car when he owned it

Yes, I think so. I knew a white "F" reg. E30 M3 with a Schnitzer badge and a registration ending "SDL". The car I know also had black ACS 16" wheels (E36 fitment I think (I'm sure there were spacers fitted)), an Evo II chin spoiler and a fibreglass replica Sport Evo rear spoiler.

I knew the car about 8 or 9 years ago when I lived in Formby.

The owner of the car had a deal fall through against a Cosworth, as an HPi check revealed something. I think it was on the list.

Don't get me wrong, it was a lovely car back then, but it had definitely seen some action.

the only action the car has seen is it was stolen recovered in 92 this has been confirmed by its 2nd owner,it was built with a red interior but was stolen from his drive and found later with the seats removed,they were replaced with correct black items,i beleive the bloke in formby traded this car and a e30 race car with moseley motors for a e36 racecar(moseley have sold it twice i beleive) i dont think it shows on the list tho

i am a bit shit on a computer ao the best thing may be for the lad around the corner to have a look for you,i have many old mots plus lots of recepts from my ownership,but none really from befor but i have many emails from previous owners that tell of a big history,maybe you should call nigel at moseley he sold it twice and remembers the car

the more question i have to answer on ebay abour rust,rattles,and gearbox troubles are going to make me keep this and sell something else,its making me realise how good it is!

To be honest Tom, as I said in my pm, it's a lot of money for a car with form however as it was 92 and not 2000 as said by some it's hardly form.

When you are looking at 5 figures for a car, form is form in my book Chris, no matter how long ago .

My other problem is the ad states 215bhp donkey but on the age it should have 195bhp donk.
215 cars were introduced late 1989 which was on our G reg.
Perhaps the engine is not original to the car or it's a mistake in the ad . . .

I remember the car having 195bhp.

The car was very well looked after, and was in stunning condition when I knew it (except for the Scrapiron exhaust!). But that was coming up for ten years ago!

The fact is that Shaun's part exchange fell through because the car was recorded somewhere for something.

Regardless, it was a very nice car.

engine is the origonal,it has a modified ecu and maybe some other bits as it pulls a lot stronger than the standard 195bhp should,maybe i should have just put 195 in the ad
