Bought my car with none... but have receipts for everything that i have done including purchases of oil and even gaskets etc...I look at it sometimes and i get satisfaction im returning my car to glory
Driving my digger!!!!
loads with my is, original bill of sale, service book and old mots , the owner before the owner i bought it from, who i think was the 2nd owner, kept everything, so did the owner i got it from, that 2nd owner had the car for 10 years, and i have 13 grands worth of reciepts for that period, and thats not inc things like tyres, about 40k ago the head went, he spent £600 to sort it then it went wrong a few months later, he then went to bmw and bought a brand new bare head for £2200, and had it all re built
previous owner went through it all and pieced all the reciepts together of when/what/price ,and made a nice spreadsheet list for easy reading, he kept it up and always took car to grage to get oil changes etc, not doing it himself, and ive kept it up, got loads of reciepts adding from myself, for everything from new exhaust to every nut n bolt n little bit ive got from bmw, quite a few bits
mot time next month, and a month or so after that or when i got spare cash after the bits im currently doing, im gonna get a bmw inspection 2

both my E30s came with no service books, but quite a few receipts. I didn't bother all that much as they are both strong motors. I did take money off the price I offered because of it.
When cars get to 20 years, it's more about where it's at than where it's been. Also a full service history won't mean it's got less rot, and that's the key consideration IMO.

of course, but if both cars are in exact same nice condition body and mechanicly wise...a car with full history is better than a car with none !Topblag wrote: When cars get to 20 years, it's more about where it's at than where it's been. Every Tax disc since 1989, every MOT certificate since 1992, Insurance paperwork for every year except 2006 i think when i had it off the road, Dealer stamped service book untill 1999 then 4 years of local specialist until i took over servicing myself. Reciepts for god knows how many thousands.
All held in two lever arch folders, (although there is space in the second one)
Dunno why i'm saving it all, it's been in the family since '91 and i'll never sell it. And besides it's only a B20
All good though,
Chris

I have a history file in the region of 25k for my touring,I have pretty much all the history & MOT's,the service book is only stamped up too 2002 and 154,000 as this is when I bought it as I'm to poor for Dick Lovetts finest to work on it!

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...
Not seen anyone else with this as yet,on this post? I thought quite a few on here would have sent for it?.........if you havnt got it,its an intresting addition.I also have the DVLA history with all the owners etc logged in detail.

All you have to do is send off to the DVLA for it with a covering note. Its termed "fee paying enquiry".I did it about 4 years back and it cost £5.In return they will supply you photocopys of all the registration documents from new,any plate change details and a list of owners with the dates they owned the car etc.xavi1980 wrote:where can i get this from?csl wrote:Not seen anyone else with this as yet,on this post?
