Thats a really nice car you have there, but the pressures of being a teenager will obviously make you look at TTs and the like. I suppose if you have another as a back up car its not too bad, but i would be included to sell the other and keep the white one...get a few miles on it out with the old man...that will make you want to keep it..

Not being funny, but exactly what are you going to do with a e46 or TT when you aren't even close to getting a license, let alone insurance!?
If I were in your position (a bit of money in the bank, a few years to wait before I began driving and understanding parents!) I'd buy a car that was special to me but in need of serious restoration and put all of my time and money into that. If it's something that you'll be able to insure when the time comes then bonus, if not, well, you're made yourself the perfect car when you get a bit of NCB under your belt
Better yet, spend the money on getting one of the cars you already own on a track once in a while!

there seems to be a lot of poverty spec ones but you can get nice ones
alot of car for your money
Another thing you boys are forgetting is that E46's, TT's and newer cars in general are alot more expensive to repair . They also are not DIY friendly like E30's either and alot of repairs require the correct diagostic equipment. Even replaceing the light switch (Light control module)on an E46 requires it to be coded to the car with the appropriate diag equipment.
Stick to something easy and cheap to repair unless you have deep pockets.

why would you want to sell it when it looks so good?
e30s are a cult following maybe in a few years they'll be very desireable you can name your price my misses didnt want me to get one its too old she said but every one i meet always says how nice its is.
also its great when she gives a wiggle in the wet and you control her and bring it round.
at the end of the day its your car your money but insurance road tax petrol factor all that in before you do anything rash as you may just regret it and then its too late
