Just read through all of this thread..Its shocking..I take it that this muppet is in business?
He needs reporting to trading standards...
I take it you now know his new address etc?...
If so give his details to upset customers and anyone he owes money too...
And do everything you can to put him out of work...That'll hurt him more than anything else
you could do to him..
And best of luck sorting your car out properly...Its nice to see so many people on here that are
willing to help you out with replacements parts etc

Jeeeezus!!! He hasn't got a f*cking clue!!!!
Regards the hood, I did much the same and I know whet you are talking about. That "dust" is in fact the airbourne paint particles which as it leaves the gun, is fluid. It then settles as per normal dust, and goes hard.
All very well in the good old cellulose days as it was dry before it settled. But in 2k or hvlp stuff, it's still fluid.
I let dust get to the vinyl webato sunroof of my Triumph during resto and that never looked right again. It had been professionally rebuilt and trimmed as well

I think Space Cadet and Big Dan need adding to the list. Those two bumchums need a serious reality check.

A temporary fix too a major amount of paint in one area, with runs etc... It has since been polished up a bit.bss325i wrote:Ollie, what us going on at the base of the C pillar? Looks like its been rubbed down?
I am currently getting local quotes to see what it will cost too fix, although if Rob's car comes back with a very nice finish from Anna and Simon's were it is at atm, I will be hard pushed not too take it there.

Hi Anna,
I fully understand you have plenty to do on this project, BUT (here it comes
) Any chance of keeping us updated with photos so we can see the project come to life. Obviously only if it's ok with Mr Stringfellow, Sorry Rob.
I think these sort of threads are a great insight into a skilled trade.

I would love too see progress pictures of your progress with Rob's car. Just as much as the MX5 and Pontiac projects.

Carb cleaner should get the paint and cack out of the roof since it's a pretty heavy duty solvent. Couldn't comment on what it'll do to the fabric or the dye tho but it works a treat on boot carpet.

I'd say steam cleanings probably the first port of call. What you don't want to do is push the crap deeper into the fabric.
